The 6 in a Dm chord would be a B. Scale tones 1-7 in the D major scale are D, E, F#, G, A, B and C#. A minor 6th chord contains the root (D), the flatted 3 (F natural), the 5 (A) and the 6 (B).

You're thinking about the minor sixth! on a Dm6 you play the natural sixth, it's a dorian chord and not an aeolian one. The minor sixth would be played if the chord was Dmb13 or Dm#5. Also, even if they're the same note, the name A# is only used if you're playing the #5. If its a b6 then it's called Bb. Hope this helps!
