Oh yes! Make the soap again!!! I grew up next to the Mississippi River and it had a huge flood in ‘93. They called that the 100 year flood too.

Hey Tierra! I am a soap maker from Maine. You will absolutely love Acadia! Make sure you see Thunder Hole and take the ride up Cadillac Mountain. There is a beach in the park but the best tourist-y beach that we love going to is Old Orchard Beach. There are shops galore, miles of sandy beach and a pier with a bar and restaurant at the end. (Make sure you stop and get some pier fries). Not far from the beach is the Clam Bake Restaurant which we make a point to get to at least once a year for seafood. There is also The Taste of Maine Restaurant in Woolwich which is, in my opinion, one of the best restaurants in Maine. Route 1 I would say from Belfast to York Beach is my favorite. It runs along the coast and you will hit all the most beautiful coastal towns we have from Lincolnville, to Camden, to Rockport, and York Beach. Enjoy your trip!!!

Very pretty! We went to Maine, New Hampshire & Vermont, last September. Loved all the states. Had Lobster (expensive, but good) in Maine, but l love lighthouses & visited many. Went to Americas Stonehenge in New Hampshire & to try & see Champ in Lake Champlain. All different than Colorado, but also very beautiful and very interesting. Mt. Washington was cool. So cool!!! Btw... I'm from boston...and salem is way cool ,any day, in oct. But you will still enjoy the quaint city. They have the oldest candy store in America . Etc... You will eat the best lobster in Maine for sure! Also you can take a ferry from salem to boston and back for some fun. Beaches in Maine are beautiful. Go to old Orchard beach... southern maine right on the coast. You can walk out onto a sand bar at low tide at the northern part of beach and find sand dollars out there. I will be going to the wht mountains in nh. For a stay in a bed and breakfast and then go kyaking and a scenic lift ride up a mountain and a concert later that night:). If you can't find a spot right in salem you can, just outside of salem. Just minutes away!!

Yes, definitely tell us, I know I would love to hear all about it! Camping is awesome, I love it... Although I find it a lot harder sleeping on the ground now (I'm 36), than I did when I was younger. I wake up with a lot more aches and pains haha I left my first comment before I had finished watching the video, I actually just finished watching it now. That's devastating what happened to Ellicot (sp?). My heart is just breaking for the people who live there, I hope no one was hurt! I live in a town built along a tidal river so I'm no stranger to flooding, but when you shared that footage, I've never experienced anything like that..it's terrifying.

I live in Maine! We've got some beautiful beaches! If you're a rolling waves, beach sand for days and long walks on the beach kind of gal...then hit up Popham Beach or Reid State Park. You can also take a hike up Morse Mountain (it's not a crazy long hike, look it up for more details) and you will arrive at a beautiful secluded beach. If you like rockier beaches full of sea treasures like washed up shells, sea glass and the occasional sea life, then hit up Mackerel Cove, Land's End or just about any area of water in the Boothbay area you'll be staying in. You get the best of both beach world's here, lol! But no matter where you go or which type of beach experience you choose, the water is still freezing...just a fair warning, lol! Check out Red's Eats for a lobster roll. You'll drive right by it on your way through to Boothbay. It can be pricey and it's cash only (they have an ATM near by if you're without cash)...but it's soooo worth the money! They however don't use mayo on their lobster rolls and if you prefer that, try Libby's Market in Brunswick. Looks like a hole in the wall convenience store...but their lobster roll is sure to impress! Luckily since lobster is Maine's specialty, there aren't too many places that would disappoint in that department, so if you see a place that looks promising...try it! Also, if you have time, hit up the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. It's beautiful and right in Boothbay! I hope you and your friends have a wonderful trip! P.S That soap looks GORGEOUS and good enough to eat!!!

I’ve never left a KZbin comment before, but I live near Salem, have been to Acadia and owe ya one for all the fun videos. ME: In Acadia I went on a couple nice ranger tours we booked ahead of time. One was of tide pools and the other was of the night sky the ranger did w/a freakishly powerful laser pointer while we laid on the beach. Even if you don’t do that tour I recommend time spent on the beach looking at the night sky - so clear, shooting stars... Blue Hills is a nice town not too far from the park. A good read for the trip Vacationland by John Hodgman. Salem: www.scratchkitchensalem.com/ has great food. Worth doing www.historyalivesalem.com/ Cry Innocent You start as part of the angry mob in the town square and go on to be a member of the jury. The Peabody Essex museum is very cool - whether you’re a museum lover or hater. It always has an eclectic mix of interesting stuff including an actual 15th century Chinese home brought over in pieces and reassembled www.pem.org/visit/yin-yu-tang. The neighboring town of Lynn has 15 large scale murals on the sides of buildings worth checking out. The neighboring town of Manchester by the Sea has the best place for an ocean-side picnic or walk w/beach access too. www.thetrustees.org/places-to-visit/north-shore/coolidge-reservation.html. Have fun and thanks for the videos they make not having time make soap bearable. Ps-As a kid I raised a baby squirrel that fell from his nest. :-)
