I've seen some extremely good guitarist before (really good guitarist), but if I'm being honest (I know that it's really a subjective thing), I truly don't believe that this man has an equal. I believe that this man has a skill set that is absolute perfection. My word Mr. Joscho Stephan, I truly believe that you are absolutely on Another Level sir. Be well.

A departure for sure but what a departure it was! I first heard the original in December 1966 and that song stills gives me chills. Hendrix's solo was an utter revelation that still inspires to this day. Thanks for keeping Jimi's music alive as it deserves to still be heard by a new younger generation.

I first saw Hendrix on TV on Top of the Pops in the UK with a group of friends - and we all went "Jesus! What the F*CK was that!" and were completely blown away. I saw him live in late 1967. By the way, the song was supposedly written by Billy Roberts in 1965, and the first recorded version was by the Leaves in 1965. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnS9f3mGlt9kn9k&ab_channel=JeanPierre However there is a lot of controversy about the song's origins - see wikipedia.

WOW!!! As a musician/teacher for 33 + years, I'd found myself less and less impressed by speed. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it as much as the next person, but only if used to enhance or to add something to a piece or a tune. Otherwise for me it gets old real fast. However, I enjoyed the way he used his ability to play fast passages and his original arrangement and interpretation of the late GREAT Jimi Hrndrix's Hey Joe, one of my personal favorites. For m, this was probably one of the most creative, smart and original covers/arrangements that I think I've ever heard! It was just beautiful and the whole band was in sinc and tight! Loved it and looking forward to more! Peace.

I'm not sure if this is an accurate statement, but is gypsy jazz the only "traditional" jazz style that has the guitarist bends their strings? By "traditional" I mean anything as old as the 20's but still before the fusion era of the 60's. I might be completely wrong though. I just find it interesting how some jazz purists don't believe in string bending, but I personally see no reason to avoid that style of technique.
