NEW JEANS: NEW JEANS, SUPER SHY, COOL WITH YOU, ETA MV REACTION

This is a long video guys, so buckle up and stay hydrated if you’re planning on watching the whole thing! If I could sum up my relationship with NJ music wise it would be “their songs don’t hit, they stick” nsnsnsn. I’m really happy to have found that description because I think it truly explains what I think of their music. On a first listen, their songs are not typically sweeping me off my feet and I am more invested and interested in the MV and their story line than the songs themselves but once I really sit down and allow myself to just listen to them, that’s when I get to really start enjoying them more and once they’ve found a place in my brain, they’re not moving, they’re staying and they’re staying for good you know! They really have found their signature sound and that formula to make catchy, viral songs and ‘Super shy’ is the perfect example of this! And surprisingly, even though, ETA is their comeback title track, I’m not as sold as I was for the rest of the songs I’ve heard before. I don’t know what it is but I think the instrumental, most specifically the trumpet or whatever is is, kinda took me out and somehow I was hyper focused on that sound instead of the overall melody and their voices. So I’m curious to see how it’s going to grow on me in the future or if it’s even going to grow on me at all. I’m also curious to see how they’re going to grow and expand music wise in the future because so far, a lot of their songs sound really similar (at least the melody and the rhythm?) and while it is constituting their identity, I wonder how much more they can evolve with it to keep people surprised and interested!
Also, I’m currently feeling really really robbed that ‘Get up’ is not a full entire song?! What do you mean?! That snippet was a masterpiece in itself but what do you mean it’s not a full song?! I’m feeling robbed Im telling you!

However, it would be silly to say it's just in reference to estimated time of arrival when those specific names of people associated with the terror group and events were used for promotional material of the track. It's a marketing tactic to get people talking. You could've picked any three names for characters but you went with those? ETA was already an acronym for estimated time of arrival way before newjeans released their song, they didn't choose to create the letters, they used the acronym for a line in their song and I genuinely don't see the wrong in that. ETA has always stood for "estimated time of arrival" for most people who have heard of the acronym. Anyone drawing lines from this to some terrorist organization have never had New Jeans' best interests in mind. In fact, they're the ones bringing more attention to said terrorist organization by making a big deal out of the acronym. I work in field services, and I am not going to surrender three letters that I and hundreds of thousands of people across North America use literally every day because some terrorist organization wants to claim it for themselves. i feel like newjeans still has a different sound with every comeback, you can feel the newjeans input but still is refreshing everytime!! personally, i usually get bored with kpop groups because after 3 comebacks they always go sideways they either try to be so different every comeback that they lose their identity or they over use the formula that works for them or they either try to make what's trendy so i tend to lose interest but i feel like ador found a balance in all of that!! they really impress me every time newjeans really have me on a chokehold with their sound and concepts, the quality is really there

Get Up is only 36 SECONDS, I'M SO DISAPPOINTED 😢 But yeah, your take on the Cool With You was close. She was a cupid but fell in love with a mortal. Tony is another cupid sent to set things back to normal because she 'disrupted' the order. I think New Jeans were the angels that could restore her powers, but she chose to walk away in the end.

Apparently Get Up is a snippet of what Newjeans' sound is going to be in their future comeback. So it's honestly a genius move by the company to showcase their r&b vocal beforehand since choosing r&b as title song in kpop is a pretty risky move lol But it got the people wanting more, and with this much hype and love for a 30sec song from the listeners, there's no way hybe isn't going to release more of that.

The girl is HOYEON, from the squid game series. The story is based on the mythological story of Cupid and psyche. Hoyeon is Cupid and she can make people fall in love but can’t fall in love herself as people can’t see her. New jeans are her guardian angels.. cupids job is making ppl around her fall in love but she comes across psyche and falls for him. forbidden love basically. the scene when she shreds her clothes is basically her shredding the cupid title and becoming human so she can be with him . However VENUS, (Tony Leung) finds out and turns her back into cupid making her partner forget about her and not being able to see her. to punish her for falling for a human he basically makes psyche fall for a different human girl. in the original story cupid is a guy and psyche is a girl but they switched the roles for this. ppl are also speculating that new jeans play the muses in greek mythology who tell the stories. i personally think new jeans are the ones that snitched on her to venus cuz they’re the only ones that are constantly watching her throughout the videos . ❤👏👏

There is absolutely 0% chance that Ador purposefully associated ETA with a separatist group rather than as the extremely well known and well understood acronym meaning Estimated Time of Arrival. As you know, the Korean K-pop idol part has a strong hip-hop foundation. It's already been 30 years since Seo Taiji and Boys were established... New Jeans sounds new, I think, because it's grafted onto the vintage sound of a European garage. Would that be around the 90's? I think they created something unique. From the point of view of Koreans, it is a very fresh sound. The music video approach is also a bit different.

I feel the same. I'm too old to fanboy but their songs are so refreshing. I try so hard to stay away from their jams. But I'm only human. I like upbeat/energetic music that are easy listens. Girl, you got it! The painting is "Eros (Cupid) and Psyche", and like in the myth Hoyeon is Cupid (working for Aphrodite) making people fall in love in the beginning of the video, until she herself fells in love with Psyche who can't see her at first, so she renowns her powers (standing naked in the rain) so she can be seen by Psyche and love each other. Until in the end, Toni Leung (Aphrodite/Venus) punishes Cupid for abandoning her duties by giving her back her powers, making her once again invisible to Psyche who forgets all about her and falls in love with the girl walking behind Hoyeon.

Their songs are all super catchy, the quality and storytelling in their videos is outstanding, all the members are adorable, and they do a ton of fan interaction. The more you watch them just hanging out with each other, the more you find that they each have distinctive personalities, and are all funny, sweet, charming, and really are having the time of their lives. Like a group of best friends who do cute, fun stuff together, and also happen to be crazy talented idols. I never listened to K pop before, but now I'm pretty much obsessed with them, and I'm with you in the ETA is my least favorite song. I don't dislike it, I'd say it's like my least favorite flavor of popsicle. Still pretty awesome, but there are others I like better.

A theory says that NewJeans is Guardian angels in ETA,they can send messages to Eva through the phone ,at first they just want to save her from that cheater but she has free will to make decisions. its a metaphor eluding to the story of cupid (hoyeon), the psyche (micol), and venus (tony). side b picks off where side a ends, she is now human and we can see that because yes her clothes are different, and people can now see her- micol can see her. they start falling in love throughout side b. at the end, tony (venus/ aphrodite) takes revenge by making hoyeon into a cupid again- thus nullifying her human status meaning micol can't see her and he forgets about the time they shared. ultimately, tony made him fall in love with someone else (that girl on the street) because she disobeyed her job as cupid its such a heartbreakingly beautiful music video, with a deep meaning and a retelling of mythology. everyone wants love and deserves love, whether they are human or otherworldly deity/being❤ this is the painting of love and psyche they were looking at in the beginning. newjeans are her guardian angels i believe, because they are the only ones that can see her. hoyeon is cupid, her job is making people fall in love. but she fel in love with a human- micol. and she abandons her job and just follows him around hopelessly. he can't see her, no humans can see her. (when she looks at the mirror, she has no reflection). at the end of side a, where she takes her clothing off in the rain and looks up at sky, it symbolizes her asking to become human, her own way of striking herself with cupid's arrow.
