H.E. Ling Rinpoche visited and paid respect to HARWAN Monastery, an ancient Buddhist Monastery in Srinagar Jummu and Kashmir, where the fourth Buddhist Council was held during the reign of Kanishka. The Harwan Monastery site holds great significance in the spread of Buddhism as it travelled into all directions from the place of its founding and Kashmir played a major role in it. One of the greatest Buddhist masters of that time, Nagarjuna (150-250 CE) was believed to have lived here.
