Hey there, I'm one of the writers! So here's the basic concept, and I'll be speaking more to this soon: This is not like television. The format is fragmented so that you can explore the storyworld in components. Each piece serves as a building block for you to construct your own progression of the story. As more episodes are released you'll have more of these pieces to examine and fit into place. No order is right or wrong. This was just the story arc that felt right to Cosimo & I as we wrote it

The episodes are designed to be pieces of the larger story and presented in a non-linear format. You can re-arrange the episodes using playlists and see the story unfold however you like.

Vincent, we will be creating our own playlists out of several, yes. And they'll have a flow that excludes opening titles and credits, so that they feel like one longer episode. But for those who also want to experiment with how this story might look in other configurations, this format allows them to.

We've found that a lot of fans have reordered episodes chronologically, while some have created playlists of specific character arcs. H+ is actually the symbol for transhumanism, a philosophy that advocate that humanity should use technology to simply become better, and thus there can be christian transhumanists, or people of any faith or none. Personally I am atheist and transhumanist. Transhumanist values are quite common, in particular when it comes to alleviating and eliminating suffering (e.g. disease).

I appreciate the response, however I'm not sure I agree with the design intent. I can't help but feel like the ability to re-arrange the viewing order will leave the whole experience feeling disjointed. That may change as the story progresses, so I'll definitely give it a fair go, but for now I've definitely lowered my expectations.
