大入島（おおにゅうじま）
大分県の南東部に位置する県南の中心都市・佐伯市から北北東に0.7km、佐伯湾に浮かぶ周囲22kmの島。形が「入」の字に似ている。漁業と農業が中心で、漁業では沿岸漁業が主体で、ヒラメの陸上養殖なども盛ん。新鮮なk農水産物を使った特産加工品やレストランメニューが人気の「おいしい島」である。また、全島が国定・県立自然公園に指定されており、風光明媚な景色が四季折々に味わえる。また、神武天皇の伝説や6世紀ごろの古墳など、歴史的にもロマンのある島である。（「シマダス」参照）
