My grandfather was born on this island in 1883. My understanding is the family home was still standing in 1991.

Thank you for watching 😊 Your grandfather is from this island. I'm surprised because it's from overseas. Have you ever been there?

I have not been to the island though I hope to visit soon. In 1981, all I had time to do was see the island from the mainland. There is one house on the video that looks like our family crest emblazoned on it.

Those Islands from 2:22 - 2:39 - Picture Postcard Perfect! Sucha shame so many of those houses are slowly decaying but there's a lot of infrastructure (harbour, paths, houses etc) for such a small Island. Who would have paid for all of this? And was fishing the industry? Sorry for all my questions 😊 👍

As you say, it's pretty obsolete now. The harbor had an inn building that you can see in the city, so it must have prospered in the fishing industry in the past.
