再生家具と循環経済　Remake, reuse, and circular economy
島根県隠岐郡の離島･海士町に2024年新しく完成した町役場
同県江津市のSUKIMONOが、家具の企画製作を担当し、約300点(約8割)のアイテムが既にあるモノや島の素材を活かした再生リメイク家具となりました。
この取り組みの背景には離島ゆえの資源循環の課題意識の高さと、長期的な目線で島内の産業構造をより創造性の高いものに刷新する狙いがあり、地域とともに愛され開かれた役場づくりを目指しました。
私たちが取り組むべき社会課題の解決糸口は､
BeforeとAfterのあいだのPROCESSにあると考え大切にしています。
SUKIMONO was in charge of planning and production of furniture for the newly completed town hall in Ama-cho, Oki-islands, Shimane Prefecture. About 80% of the 360 items used were remade into furniture utilizing locally reclaimed materials. Of importance was a high awareness of the issues of resource recycling on a remote island. We aim to increase the number of island craftsmen in the long-term. The project aimed to create a town hall to be used and loved by the local populace, in part by holding a series of 5 furniture-making workshops.
