Oh wow. Nobody ends a phrase like HH - so thoughtful and gentle. As well, his ability to command a perfect low note, warm and in tune, after letting it rip on a high C. My favourite moment is bar 16 - sextuplets rit. into the dolce. So delicate and musical. Keep 'em coming, Hakan!

NEW WEEK, NEW SET OF CAPITALS FOR COMMENTS!!! ONCE AGAIN HAKAN HAS PROVEN WITHOUT A DOUBT THAT ASIDE FROM THE CHARLIER WHICH IS A MANDATORY MUST FOR SERIOUS TRUMPET PLAYERS, SO TOO SHOULD BE THE VIEWING OF THIS SET OF VIDEOS THAT HE IS CREATING. (please, please, please someone try and flame me on this irrefutable fact...I love clay pigeon practise) PS, I WILL ASSUME THAT THE TWO THUMBS DOWN ACTUALLY CAME FROM AUSTRALIA WHICH IS IN THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE SO THEY ARE ACTUALLY THUMBS UP...THANKS MATES FROM DOWN-UNDER BUT WE WILL AUTO-CORRECT IT HERE IN THE NORTH PPS If I am mistaken on the comment above and there really is someone out there who dares to dislike this, then once again....please, please, please try your flame thrower and reveal your digital face...I would welcome the challenge of showing that you are as wrong as the slip of your thumb!!! PPPS. THANK YOU HAKAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I noticed in bar 15 Hakan plays a fully diminished arpeggio instead of the notated half-diminished (he plays a Bb on the last half of beat 4 instead of the notated B natural). Anyone have an idea why? Artistic choice? Conflicting editions? To me, either way sounds fine, I just wonder if there's something I don't know.
@ebjazz4 жыл бұрын
Hmm. You may be right. Are you saying he played a C# and a Bb? Personally, I've always played that as C natural which I now see is wrong. Funny that it is marked as a B natural with no need for that accidental. good catch!
@GregBackwards4 жыл бұрын
@@ebjazz Yea, he carried the C# through the bar and played a Bb, changing the cautionary natural accidental, which then makes it a descending fully diminished 7th arpeggio (G-E-C#-Bb-G-E). Any time I played this etude, I'd stick to the written B natural. I just wonder what the logic was in his decision. I am under no impression that this was a mistake, because I can't imagine someone of Hakan's caliber would let something like that fly under the radar.
