Koto is the harp, shamisen is the lute, shakuhachi is the flute. They also have a taiko drum player in addition to the drum set.

That flute is very special. The original concept of those flutetypes hails back centuries ago where Japan was in the prime of myths and religions. The sound of these flutes were made in mind to mimic the sound of a phoenix to honour the greater beings Japan worshipped.

so theres this one band you NEED to react to, it's called Steam Powered Giraffe and I recommend the song Honeybee its a song about the lead singers ex who left her (well, him, but that individual is now a woman) after so briefly coming into his/her life and making an immense difference. buuuuuuuuut i think you'll be more interested in the video than the back story of the song >w> trust me.

Shiny. I had to go and look them up. Lindsey Stirling did a cover of one of their pieces. You've done a lot of Asian bands so, if you want to delve into some of the weird Norse flavoured stuff, I like Heilung, and Eivor Palsdottir. If you want to see a rocking cover group, try Steve 'N' Seagulls. They are a hoot as one of my friends would say. Which reminds me, If you don't know about 2Cellos, you need to check them out.
