H + N Engagement Story

After a grizzly bear encounter and hiking 12 miles in the rain, Nick proposed to Haley on a lakeshore in Banff. They couldn't have imagined it any other way.
Trip Summary:
Day 0: Fly in to Calgary, Canada; drive to Saskatchewan River Crossing and spend the night at a hotel
Day 1: Backpack to Hector Lake and camp (3 miles round trip from car, 300 ft elevation gain)
Day 2: Hike back to car from Hector Lake, drive to Banff Town and stay at hotel for one night
Day 3: Proposal at Moraine Lake! Hike to Sentinel Pass (7 miles, 2500 ft elevation gain), hike to Consolation Lakes (4 miles, 600 ft elevation gain), propose on the shore of Moraine Lake and our families surprise Haley, drive to Canmore and stay in Airbnb for two nights
Day 4: Drive to Lake Louise, hike to Lake Agnes Tea House (5 miles, 1300 ft elevation gain)
Day 5: Drive from Canmore to Jasper with stops at Bow Lake, Peyto Lake, Panther and Bridal Veil Falls, Goats & Glacier Lookout; stay two nights at a hotel in Jasper
Day 6: Drive to Maligne Lake, hike to Opal Peak ridge (5 miles, 2700 ft elevation gain), Pyramid Lake hangout
Day 7: Drive from Jasper to Calgary with stops at Athabasca Falls, hike to Stanley Falls along Beauty Creek (2 miles, 400 ft elevation gain), Athabasca Glacier; spend the night at hotel in Calgary
Day 8: Early flight home from Calgary
