Händel - Concerto Grosso Op. VI N° 11 - HWV 329

Handel 6/11 is, for me, at the absolute pinnacle of the art of the Concerto Grosso. This performance is brilliantly performed and this recording to me is one of the very best there is. It puts the listener in the front rows of the audience with an ability to listen to individual instruments being played beautifully. I particularly admire the microphone placements and the mixing and how we are able properly to appreciate the bottom octave in all its extension and in its properly balanced place - not being rolled off at 12dB + per octave into obscurity. When you hear this piece performed live that is often what makes the experience feel so different to that of listening to a recording. Bravo!

Masterful. Every instrumentalist at the very peak of professional achievement. Staging,recording,lighting,acoustics count for a lot also.
