@@doohickey-enjoyer I think quite a lot of the ones that exist now didn’t have rotators. I think this one may have rotated at one time but it’s rotator is broken

@@MasenMonsterthis one indeed has the rotating base which was run by a separate 2 hp motor. A small motor for a big job, if the small gears were not greased every so often, the rotators would be prone to fail, as most did over time as I believe the maintenance was not done enough. There are a ‘few’ out there that still have working rotators however, and one or two still in great original shape. I appreciate this pic as it’s the base I was trying to figure out for a Model 50 and this is what I would like to have over the ones made with angle iron, etc.

That’s funny, they said they were testing later and they didn’t. Kinda of the same story for me. It’s the first Monday of August, it’s turns 11:00 and my 3 buddy’s wait for the 508 activation and the tones. Half an hour later, nothing. We thought they weren’t gonna test until we got a text from Jacob saying that the test would be delayed until 1:00pm. Remember me and the other 3 guys are in a field that is right next to a highway. So we sat there for 3 hours until we got tones at about 1:02 and we got the full 3 minute alert. Issue was caused my something at the dispatch center, thank you for your time if you read this whole thing.

That siren is probably the only warning siren in Jackson county,TN I know clay county in downtown celena they have a federal code model 5 and on a hill is a whelen hornet I believe

Rotator gears needed to be greased every so often, not greasing caused most of the failures I believe.

Rotors usually went out because they were not regularly greased. It was a small gear from a 2hp motor that drove it, and the makers son told me they would fail if not maintained properly. They can be fixed but most of Harry’s records do not exist anymore so machining would have to be employed. I have one of the two that are in personal possession. 🤠👍🙏🏻
