As far as I'm concerned you were in TWO great bands; H.P. Lovecraft and The Shadows of Knight both. Thanks for the great music!

I saw you guys play this at Winterland with Procol Harum and Pink Floyd all those years ago. PERFECT rendering, just majestic. Spellbinding. We thought you stole the show that night....

We Can All Have It Together.....beautiful legacy of different times. Thanks a lot for the excellent musicianship. Never thought I would see an original H P Lovecraft performance, a rare treat! Mike was a drummers drummer, is that him in this video I wonder? I must have been a tad to young to miss a show at Winterland.

Holy Cow are you the BASSIST OF H.P. LOVECRAFT gracing us with your funky presence? I play bass and have always loved your bassline on Drifter. McCartney can eat his heart out haha Cheers!

@@jerrymcgeorge4117 No way! I remember discovering you guys during my stereotypical stoner phase back in the mid 2000s (Some say that phase has never really ended, puff puff). But your music has stuck with me for at least a decade now! Possibly the nicest bass sound I've encountered. I don't know how you achieve your sound, it's sort of solid but floaty, but whatever the case thanks for some amazing music over the years, Jerry!

@@nimblenavigator9520 Thanks so much. That was mostly a borrowed Hofner Beatle bass through a Fender Dual Showman, though I used a Gibson EB2 on a couple of the jazzier cuts. A few weeks later got the Guild Starfire bass in the video, which gave way to a fender Jazz Bass.

the only video footage i have seen of HP Lovecraft, ever. thanks for posting it. i won't even comment an opinion on this gem, only an observation, when it was, where/why it was played on turntables back then, i'm assuming they were in "floored conditions"... timeless and now passed out of time itself... i'm assuming the band took LSD... they might not have... who knows... you can hear HP Lovecraft on a couple of "Hippy" documentries made in the 67-68 era...

Each song on this band's debut album is an absolute masterpiece!! I never get tired of playing that LP!! My older brother's friend turned me to them in 1995, when i was just 15, and I've been their devoted fan ever since.... LOVECRAFT released a very cool album, too.... "Black Valley", if I'm not confusing anything. Thank you for uploading this clip -- I never saw the band playing live!!.... Amazingly wonderful.
