I guess the truth about what happened in the Independence war is somewhere in between the Jewish and Arab versions of the story - of course the lost side always exaggerates the atrocities committed by the winner side...

and of course the winner side will underestimate atrocities.. to be national, to be proud of what happened, you have to underestimate the lost side..

@@mtmas1 Indeed, but there are religious background dependent differences on how nations deal with their past. See for example how Germany deals with its the Nazi past and Holocaust and compare that how Turkey vehemently denies the Armenian genocide.
