I used to use w296 and liked it a lot. I read H110 was interchangeable. Found a 4-pound can of H110. I’ve been quite happy.

It is my understanding that Win 296 vs H110 are made and bottled off the same line only the labels change.

This is correct. Years ago they were different yet very similar powders by different manufacturers. Now they are both made in the same plant by Hogdon. The only variation is in the lot numbers.

They are the same powder just like Hodgdon HP38/Winchester 231.

They are the same powder made by the same manufacturer. They are labeled different for different retailers brand names. Any difference is just lot to lot variation. Both Hodgdon and Winchester warn not to load light loads with this powder. You shoot it right close to maximum charge or don't use it. A slight decrease in powder will decrease pressure dramatically and it will cause a squibb if you reduce the charge very much. A squibb is not dangerous as long as you don't pull the trigger again after the squibb. But if you pull again it might wreck your life. I decided to start using Lil Gun because it is not so sensitive. I did get great power and accuracy out of W296. 6 inch 6 shot groups at 100 yard was not bad from a revolver. Good luck.

A max load of H110 with a 180 grain XTP bullet, is a fun load to shoot. Almost 1800 fps, with a flame shooting 3’ out of the end of the barrel!! Turns heads at the indoor range I go to!
