Show them your acceptance letter, get a sponsor, a letter from a teacher or church leader speaking on your character and boom. It's really not that hard. As an American citizen the most obvious thing is that once we fellow Americans realize that we lost our cheap labor force after they get deported, we will wish for the good old days when you could actually walk into a grocery store and afford to walk out with two heavy bags full of milk, fruit, four, rice, sugar and ice cream for the kids. We will reminisce about the Golden Era when you could actually pay for a date AND yourself in a nice WHITE table cloth restaurant, you know those fancy ones where bus boys work from 9am in the morning till 2am the next morning taking out heavy garbage bags from the basement back out into the street without complaining. Instead you will see most of your favorite joints closed, and those that managed to stay open will have $80 burgers and $50 glasses of wine, no waiter service because it will all be self service. Good luck finding a maid in a hotel or a doorman downstairs to carry your luggage for you because, that too will all be self service BUT at an astronomical price nonetheless. For decades we took our cheap labor for granted. You know, those friendly people who barely spoke English, who barely made any money but still smiled and did our dirty work, the kind that us lazy Americans don’t like doing. And YES, they DID pay taxes WITHOUT receiving a return because they can’t receive any, except YOU think they didn’t pay taxes. My husband has been in this country for over 35 years. He came as a student from an African country and has a green card and has permanent resident status. He is here legally meaning he did everything the legal way to obtain both his green card and his permanent residence status. Would he be in danger of being deported? Asylum can be done on their home countries as well and there is no point of going to the US enter illegally and applying asylum. They need to review all of asylum claims if they entered illegally and if they did, that is subject for deportation. It should be strict as applying in US Embassy or on port of entry, nothing else. If you wanted to be accepted by American society, you need to follow the rules before entering the US. Immigration is a privilege and not a right.
