On the 4.75 topic, i cudnt have worded it better. Lets all remember that this is the same company that was generous enough to let us get alter units through sidegrade, I believed they had the right to make them purely gacha, given that 99% of all games do this. And i wudnt even be mad if they did that. But wfs did not. They stuck to their model. We were allowed to get sidekicks on upgrade or sidegrade. Its just really sad to see the state its gotten to since the last jp producer came in charge. 6.5 years of game identity just vanishes over the span of 5 months.

The 4.75* term was from my friend and I immediately loved it! Yes the Alter sidegrades were a perfect example of fair but difficult sidegrade system. It took longer but any player could still get there and not be gate locked, unlike the current SA system. It is quite amazing how quickly the player/gacha experience got worse in “only” 5 months.

Def agree I used to brag about how banner in other games once gone your screwed but at least any version of unit in a.e you could grind for what you wanted. I will never forgot grinding to get as myrus (my waifu) but it get depressing think about if they sa an es for she will feel incomplete. At this point the only justice done for older units are true manifest even after pulling all the latest units myrus and chiyo are still staples in my earth DPS

I actually got all the Wryz saga gacha units after Xianhua banner. Except they are all 4.5*. In the past, I would be happy with this, but now it feels like I lost the gacha somehow. I don't even use anyone except for Kuchinawa in my Earth team. Special shout out to Melpi who spoke me as 4.5* 3 times, like I should be getting at least 1 of her tome's starchart at this point. Also funny your son mention SA Yakumo cus we will be seeing that soon next month.

Yes I told him about Yakumo AS with SA. We were mainly joking about if NS Yakumo was released now, his Deletion move would be nerfed so much unless you unlocked SA.

I still am an advent player of this game. But I've mainly just been doing story content and keys, I barely touch any superbosses/astral archive, I haven't even done the mythos boss rush. I liked doing no AF strats but that really isn't possible anymore. And about the 4.75 star, even the newest character Xianhua, maybe I was using her wrong, but unless she's all buffed up she seems underwhelming. I'm not the best but I think I'm decent at coming up with strategies, but like you said they require super specific teams not leaving room for variety

There *needs* to be more way and supplies to get Stellar gauge/allcosmos without having to pull for dupes for light payers/f2ps. As it is, the progress is going so much faster than any light players can catch up. Honestly it was a really good idea when they made manifests, have a tough boss where if you beat it, you can bump up the old units to the current meta. Now, they promised that SA will be something to have old units contain progression past their current point, and that point's just moot now that *everyone* has an SA, rather than just outdated old units.

I remember starting to play this gamr a few years ago, watching your videos and being happy how amazing the story contents are. Even when I haven't had the newest units or only 4.5*. As you said, there was always something to grind for. Now with the SA system it is like you already explained: There is no way to actively catch up other than literally waiting for months to get the starcharts. Not even speaking of the light/ shadow points to unlock more of the board. I would have been fine with WFS adding something like skill ups or the character upgrades like in Genshin. Let the characters be functionable and only add better things when unlocking more stuff but don't make it a necessity.

I wouldn’t have as much of a problem with SA if the non-SA 5* had similar power levels to the best of 2023 regular 5* units, and the SA abilities a bonus. Unfortunately SA units aren’t designed like that. It’s like the devs purposely broke the unit first, then used the SA ability to fix those problems. You end up with a 4.75* unit instead of a true 5* like in the past. Hopefully future SA units will be better designed but as it stands, most non-SA units aren’t worth using, so you have a problem of needing starcharts to even make them usable, and we all know we will NEVER have enough starcharts unless you whale on banners. Even the subs aren’t enough to offset the rate of release of units.

You are not the only one feeling these. There are so many points that resonate with me. -On Wyrmking preventing barrier piercing unit, actually I was going to quit before that when Tunnel Master's aura can send my unit with cyclone immunity badge to reserve. Even Benedict's Rip saw mode with innate cyclone immunity got cycloned to reserve too. It is a clearly cheap game. -Astral Archive is never fun for me too. I only search for whatever team I can use and gain some CS. -SA system is brutal. I pulled 4 star Wenefica and 4* Kuchinawa and have to leave them on shelves. -Everything becomes money hungry. -I am looking for other games to play, any advice for F2P?

also tip after you finish the event story for the sake of repairing a tome you need to go to sebastia's lab and watch the very first past memory simulator event (very first) that features galliard aka 2 galliards again

finished main event story i will say that there will be 2 side quests and another shadow of final event boss character in the memory along with the unlock for galliard's 5 star before the boss fight that i probably recommend having him use his new "jump" skill at the right time when you get to one last hp stopper due to annoying barriers as the boss charges its attack otherwise even on easy it could wipe your party easily or have iphi's revive ready/a super tank skill active lol xianhua's 3rd quest gets unlocked and after that final boss is a little surprise :D . Alter akane really helped deal that damage to help finish it off lol and so did Xianhua

With the new system and everything, coming from someone who used to be a light spender, the way it is now it feels like they're backing players into a corner, account progression used to be fairly casual and not restrictive in time, things feel like they're almost now or never when it comes to the gacha, and even then with the rates changing for 4.5's it's a big slap in the face, I would have pulled on that SA Ewella banner for that alone just to have her. The star charts being this restrictive this long feels scummy, at this point I think I missed a chart or two and really don't care. I'd prolly use what I have on Rosetta if she gets SA since she's my favorite and that's it. I think the writing is on the wall as far as the direction of the game from a gameplay standpoint, with what they're saying (or showing, rather) and the things they spoken on especially with the advent of the recent anniversary announcements, things are going to continue to be the same. Thankfully the story side of things still seems to be worthwhile, and will continue to enjoy that when I get the chance, else I'd prolly delete this game tbh. There's plenty of other games, other gacha's that won't force my hand and offer better paths to account progression.

I completely agree with u, I'm a light spender, after 3 banner with stellar units, I just gave up on the idea of saving chronos stones. And I find it stupid to lock the best skills of the characters behind the stellar system. Besides, I believe we should have pity system by now with how many 5 star units we currently have in the game rn

Another thing I'll mention is the free characters... Up until the newest content releases, I used the story characters to complete the story content (Aldo, Feinne, Cyrus, Amy, etc.)... I used these characters to complete the Main story up through Tales of the East. It sucks I can't do that anymore. Not even close. I have to use buffed up gatcha teams for the newest content. I'll admit, I'm not tactical at all and am a casual player. But that really bothered me. 😔

Even the newer free units from the recent Octopath collab since the SA system aren't as powerful as previous collab units, from what I've heard. That's part of the reason I never bothered completing it. Maybe I should go back and clean up that old content.

At this point I feel like most of the SA units I get from this game are from the episodes or symphony stories, which is quite good but makes it that the other old units I got from gacha gets underwelming... not to mention that I need to always hit a 5 star unit drop for it to be stellar awakened in the new banners and that the revenue for all starcharts is only 12 per year which is only 4 stellar awakened units

Wil, I quit a few months back due to the massive number of changes that wrecked me. If they slowly implemented some of these changes, it might have been differnet, but it was way too much. I was a minnow, but the fact that even SDE were gutted made me lose hope. The drive to get a complete roster was possible, but now is impossible except for the biggest whales. Too much FOMO

if we could get an allcosmos fragment another dungeon and an another dungeon for light/shadow points, that would solve everything imo. would sa be an absolute grind? yes, but sidegrading already is but this would at least give a viable path for f2p and low paying players

"Light spenders" under sells the reality. I spend $5.50 a month on the Guide of the Land. Thats $66 a year, which is essentially me buying a brand new game from WFS every year. The SA system as it stands is a significant gatekeep for me in spite of having paid for a full game.

yea it truly is sad i thought when this SA system was gonna release that and i kept saying it should have only been used on the main cast from up until altena and thats it just to make them more useful they didnt have to do any of this and the game is still fine ive been at the point at leaving the game and returning a few times already and if it werent for the friends i have guiding me and helping me with what i can and should do to try to enjpy this game as much as possible i would have been gone already. its sad to see this beautiful game hit such a sorry state and I truly do love what this game gave me memories and all the good it had. its just really disheartening and sad.

I have played almost since launch as free to play, except the one package with the XP weapons. I only ever used chants and light/shadow points on units I was sure I needed for an ideal strategy or really enjoyed using. The Stellar Awakening system takes more resources that can't be obtained for a longer period of time. The SA units don't seem to get great without being awakened. With how wild the super bosses can get with auras, I am afraid newer players could get power crept outand quit. For those like me that have some stuff saved up, too many wrong judgement calls could put us into the same boat.

For Example, I pulled 5 star ES Anabelle after 2k stones the first day of the banner, and 4 star Xianhua after 1k stones the second day. Annabelle is already at 128 light, and came awakened, so minimal grind and resources needed for her. Xianhua will still take a lot more resources to become viable even though I just got her tome after 10 runs yesterday. I upgraded her to 5 star. Now I have to decide... it would take my last 3 all cosmos charts to awaken her, and 14 more shadow points to see her potential.

Wil thank you for addressing light spender case and rates as well because as you said since light spenders are not well even with subscription every other month you can get up to two starcharts but you still have to pull the unit the unit or sidegrade if it’s an as. Even you do have the unit you’re sitting trying to figure out who to SA. I have both Alma, thillelle, wenefica and akane alter with 5 starcharts debating who you upgrade for now. Alma 5 star no sa is good dps/tank wise thill 5 star with no sa is only good support Alma and wenefica is only there to set a. Shade zone. Akane… she dies before she even gets to use a move 🤷🏽‍♂️. At this point I wish they would stop dropping more sa’s and focus on manifest weapons for a while something everybody can work towards.

I'm not exactly on board with the non SA characters being unusable, but... with Akane... It's painfully true. I was so hyped not only for her release but also for getting her opuses really fast, and she's just... Not good at all. She NEEDS SA so bad, that even with SA she's still not that good of a unit. I get more utility out of a 4* Myunfa than out of her, it's so painful.

When I was finally able to come back to the game after a year or so away, my first thoughts were: oh no, I'll never be able to keep up. It was really sad to see that I wouldn't be able to continue to work hard, and invest time, and eventually have a semblance of an account that a paying player might have. I've said this many times, I don't think I should have access to what a paying player does... Not immediately. But after 6 months , a year, or two even... I've always appreciated that I could invest that time and come away with some of those same characters. I mean, what is a character that's a year or two old anyway. At least let me work for that. I've literally always been a year or two behind the meta in character collection and upgrading. Now I won't be able to have that at all. Even if I save, diligently manage my account, and work hard for it. I appreciate all those that support the game. I appreciate the opportunity to play it for free and all the work that goes into crafting it. It's literally been one of my favorite games of all time. And more than anything, I appreciate and love the little communities such as this one that surround the game. 💙 But, as soon as I came back, I felt like you... Paying players and f2p will be playing two separate games in a year or two. It's weird in a game I've always luaded as a great f2p game. 😕

I also agree about the 4.75* classification and the assessment that newly released SA characters are handicapped as 4.5 or even 5*. I'll take a Minalca, Yakumo, or Sesta all day over a handicapped 5* SA character not awakened... I'll take them over half of the SA characters awakened. 🤷

If this game was not a single-player game that does not have competition, I would argue some of this, but since the game is what it is, I agree with almost everything. Also, I have only been playing for about two months now, but I spend on banners and I have already noticed some of the issues you mentioned.

As a "day-one-player" (F2P), almost 190 characters (free ones almost all at 255 light/shadow) almost 200 chant scripts, thousands of high class scrolls, grastas, etc., I've finally uninstalled AE...and I couldn't be happier. It took far too much of my time, crashed continuously, quickly drained my cell battery, took more than 9 GB of space on my phone and it had become really frustrating to play. I'm actually feeling kinda relieved 😅

imo, I dont really hate SA system, I just hate how WFS used this system and treated f2p players like trash or something, not even a proper farming method for starchart (check in new char/style starcharts list at VC grasta exchange place, do you really have to exchange at least one spare starchart for merely 10 L/S point??) And also, what's with the idea of locking most QoL in subscription? That includes AD skip ticket and other things in future, why not just add few free AD skip chance daily instead of waiting another campaign that might never happen again. Whatever the case, this game just want to be "only p2w" game now

Despite me finally starting to get lucky with 1k pull landing me Kuchinawa and 6k for both Anabel ES and Xianhua. I feel like WFS is making the game on a down slope with some predatory moves lately. Remember that for 4 years the only gacha game I've been playing is Another Eden but now I added another one and that's Honkai Star Rail, I've been enjoying it and hopefully I don't reach the burnout phase for Another Eden. I do understand that WFS want to make more money off the game and I don't mind it as long as it's within reason and not leaning towards P2W and punishing F2P or even Light Spenders such as myself. We don't want the game to fall from grace. Hopefully WFS preserve it's current loyal fans both JP and GL because I know many are disappointed and some even thinking of quitting/taking a break.

the first character we summon regardless 4.5 or 5* should immediately grant a starchart then following 5* only count that way we dont stucked at 2 starcharts until we get another 5* only we able to SA an unit,the shop only has 2 availble thats it if u need the third one goodluck with that.THis is where allcosmos from monthly mission help f2p to SA certain unit they got as 4.5* but only 1 cosmos per month so f2p have to be very careful witht he resources. The powercreep already worried me by the time i return seeing yakumo single handed nuke everything to the ground,then there i got sesta and she just wrecked everything brainded.There is no strategy needed or bare minimum effort/strategy needed to use them at all. AE definitely out of idea and already moved out from their objective it seem,and i guess it bound to happened to gacha games as time go along they can't maintain as it is otherwise AE can't make money to thrive but again the risk is if they mess up badly AE definitely will decline until it meet it's death.

Sadly, I don’t believe survey responses will change the devs’ view on SA. However, there are multiple threads on Discord and the subreddit encouraging people to submit their negative opinions on the SA system.

They at least need to make the SA system better. And since stelpoints is actually based on L/S, the least they can do is to make everyone farmable on toto for the chance of 5-10% at least. This system needs a whole more polishing imo.

The L/S issue is there, but the main problem is the impossible task of overcoming the lack of all-cosmos.

I have a video of grasta setups up to 2.8.500 and it’ll carry you even to now. I mention the different dungeons you grind them at. As for different gear, many of the best weapons are from superbosses. Check the loadout on the various superboss or 5* review videos and search the names on the wiki. Unfortunately there are too many to list and some are niche use.

I totally agree that the SA system is awful for f2p and I feel it'll be a stepping stone for the game's death. There's a game called "Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Contenient" that has a lot of the same mechanics as AE. Maybe check that out.

Second the Octopath recommendation. It was already starting to compete with AE as my main gatcha, but the SA system is terrible and I find myself being much more hyped for Octopath content these days.
