they're actually not the same. the moon pool was likely removed once h2o was finished because they didn't plan on a sequel and they had to make a new one for mako mermaids. you can tell by the way they look that they're different

We are going to build a swimming pool and I would like to add that touch of magic that unites all the natural pools of H2O.
