So like we just gonna ignore how SMART Rikki proved herself to be in this episode?! Knowing what juice combination to give Emma to calm her down, knowing what to tell Zane to get him to leave, knowing how to respond to Miriam waking up in order to get her to walk away without making a scene, generally having a very focused mind in a seriously stressful situation. Makes me realize how having a rough time growing up probably really gave her some great crisis handling abilities when it really comes down to it, something that someone like Emma, who has never had a face such hard times, does not have.

But to be fair, none of them, except maybe Emma, would be up at that time if it wasnt for the reasons the whole episode is about. Emma is working and opening the shop early so obviosly she is up. And Emma calls Cleo (who was probably sleeping), who calls Lewis and Rikki (who were also probably sleeping) and all of them obviosly rush over because somebody is in serious trouble. And Zane probably would have also been asleep but he was probably woken up very early and harassed by Miriams mother who assumed that Miriam wasnt at home because she had spend the night with Zane and didnt believe Zane when he said that wasnt true. So he was up to find Miriam. Oh, I guess Rikki was already up swimming before she heard about Miriam, so that is a bit odd (and out of character, too ) but maybe she was upset?

I love Rikki and Cleo. Cleo is a sweet bean and is always bullied: either by Miriam, her own sister, Kim, or Charlotte in the next season. Rikki is so funny, savage, and just generally a character I feel very affectionate toward.

One of my favorite episodes. It really displays the different strength and weakness of itch one of the girls. The contrast between Rikki and Emma was so fitting, which made Cleo the mediator between them so perfect, as she's literally being the free flowing water between boiling heat and freezing cold. Also the way Rikki can be so quick on her feet, yet lazer focused under pressure, were beautifully presented and felt authentic and real.
