The fridge is the best place for radioactive items. It reduces it 25% where that filing cabinet has no reduction. They have a Geiger counter to verify that.

i know this video is 6 months old, but for anyone curious about why it took so long to kill that robot, the robot is quite resistant to Blunt Weapon damage. if you can manage it, use a kitchen knife, or better if you can craft this before night time, use the Makeshift Spear my only issue is there is like zero feedback to tell you if your melee hits actually do damage until you hit the robot enough and notice it is taking damage
