I watch these too. But I bought my current house 1.5 years ago,,, my first well. My pump failed on July 3rd. I knew exactly what to do. New pump, new well pipe, new wire, new well seal, and a frequency controller. Repaired my well casing by welding in a patch where it had been notched for wire and rope, Did some re-plumbing. System rungs like new. Thanks H20 Mechanic!

I just sent you some paypal lunch money as a thank you for sharing your knowledge. You know what I mean: the tricks that the pros know that average DIY person will probably never have the opportunity to learn. I am getting ready to replace my 3rd pump, at the third house I have lived at. I thought I knew how to do it but you have soooo many tips and secrets. I pulled the pump the other day (muscled it up 135 feet) and I thought I was gonna die. Then I saw the clever rig that you made with the lawn mower wheels, which I am making an ok copy of right now. You may have saved this old man from having a heart attack, LOL. When I pulled it up a few days ago the pump checked good (its at least 13 years old) but the wires were chaffed in several places and I ended up having to use the green wire as a hot. I am going to the well supply place tomorrow to get everything new: wire, pump, snubbers, low-pressure trip pressure switch, etc. The 13 year old 3/4 HP pump is probably on borrowed time. It's total run is about 700 feet but its head is only 230 feet. The pressure tank is only 8 years old and is inside the house, but I will check the bladder pressure and listen for the ring and make sure its cycle time is correct for the size of the tank. (A 40 gallon bladder.) And all the other subtleties that you have shared. This will hopefully be the last time I pull a pump in my lifetime. But I think the static water height is about 40 feet higher than when I checked it several years ago, but the water still tests good like there isn't a ground water issue, I hope. Hmmm. Thanks again, and enjoy lunch on me! Lloyd

The more well videos I watch from all sorts of companies, has made me glad we did a bunch of extra stuff for my new well down in Arkansas. Ran a 10/3 240ft to my well from the pole on it's own breaker. Built a 10x10 shed over the well head, with a tandem 30amp double pole and twin 20amp breakers on their own circuits for each, with their own duplex and light on each leg, with a secondary breaker panel with 2 slots and a generator back stab. That way anyone can work on the well if no one is home. And can be turned off in multiple spots and if there's no power u can flip 2 breakers and backstab right at the well shed with a small 220/240 Genny.

Love your videos. You are a master well driller/repairman. I have two 500 ft wells in North TX down to the Woodbine Aquifer. So far so good with one well using a 10 gallon per minute Franklin pump, and the other with a Grundfos 3" constant pressure electronic pump with a CU301 Controller kit. Great stuff and zero problems so far in 5 years.

With the bare hot and ground there would have been current in the water. I wonder if that would heat the water. I guess the well does not have a ground fault breaker which would have tripped. Do people use ground fault breakers on wells in new installatins? Good video.

We had a well silt in and the grit from the silt trashed the pump. Well was bad after that. We could potentially have added a bunch of gravel to act as a filter but it was a total gamble. So we drilled a new well. The well guy said ours was pretty unusual but that it doesn't take a huge amount of dirt to wear out the impellers of the pump.
@gerdberg4188Ай бұрын
You could install a high limit pressure switch before the filter , and that way you you still have a clean tank .

As a well driller in Australia, we deal with mud rotary as most of our land is flat coastal. We do have afew guys with DTH rigs for the hills but mainly mud rotary around these parts of Western Australia! We set casing from the BOH to surface with slotted casing down the bottom, gravel then bentonite chips to seal off the surface water. I’m glad to see everyone getting work especially us when we get government work 😎😎

What an amazing tech. I just bought a house in the country on auction so there was really no assurance that anything at all worked. It is on rural water but there's also an old well. I've hired a local plumber to get an estimate on making the well usable so I can use it for gardening and animals (rural water is far more expensive than even city water). I hope the guy is as knowledgeable as the guy in this video.
