I must say that I am very impressed with how hard you work and the quality of your work. I worked 3 years for the second biggest municipal in Denmark in their water department (doing IT) and in DK we almost doesn't have any private wells since this is done by "goverment" due to strict water control. However I was there to hook those water sites up to our IT grid so I could see how they did it compared to your work and I am very impressed with the work done by your company. Gtz man and greetings from Denmark. Love your videos and your personality.

@@SzymczykProductions and where does a lot of municipal water come from?
@dlr441
@dlr441 9 ай бұрын
Where does the water come from on Denmark? Wells, of course. I'm not sure, but from my (limited) knowledge even when water is pulled directly from rivers and lakes it is usually collected in Ranney Wells. The Ranney collects water which comes from a river, for instance far enough away from river or lake after traversing thru sand, gravel etc. which does natural filtering. Water is then filtered and treated with disinfectants. Another method is Reverse😮 Osmosis. In S. FL many of us pull water from shallow wells. Said water runs thru much sand, limestone and is safe to drink. I do run it thru a water softener system to clarify it but add a very small amount of bleach to protect from bacteria that may come thru the aerator (sulphur removal). So, there is my input. 😊

I’ve worked on well pump systems since I was around 10 . Had to help my dad keep water to house. When I was 16 I worked for A well drilling company. Sometimes it was dangerous especially on old hand dug shallow wells. I ve seen a lot of galvanized deep wells and sub pumps. When we replaced the galvanized and installed ABS plastic we also put a well Chain attached to the pump and at the well flange . I like your special tools to keep from dropping the pump and pipe when pulling . Looking forward to more videos.

Not to mention bugs and how many kids that live in the park pissed in that tube. That can't be code for a multiple dwelling property.

I've have watched a few of your videos, I've drilled, pulled, repaired, installed and tested wells from 10" pumps with five to eight Bowls, down to what we called stock wells that are 6" & 8" well casing. One thing I would have you change is when you tape the sub pump wires, that you tape each line separately, then tape it to the pipe. Taping each line out of the pump, prevents rubbing of the wires, and gives added protection in hard water areas. Best of luck to you.

Well is 200ft deep with a static level at 50ft, pulled the pump out with a date code from 1985 and surprisingly it still worked (will be storing it as a backup, just incase). I just want to say thank you, your videos are very informative and easy to follow. If it was not for your videos and easy going personality, i most likely would have needed to outsource this project. To help show support, I just placed an order on your website today for the check valve and ss barbed fitting for the pump I ordered, once they arrive I should be ready to drop the new pump and get it running. Again, just wanted to say thank you for all you do, you can consider me a lifetime subscriber now! Keep up the good work man!

I’m in Houston Texas. We just had our irrigation well pump replaced. The well is 350 feet deep. The pump is at 300 feet deep on 2 inch galvanized when they pulled the pipe out. The 2 inch galvanized looked almost brand new and it’s been in the ground for 20 years. It pumps 80 to 100 gallons per minute. And amazingly the water is very good being that we are in Houston a chemical toxic dump for the last 150 years. The company that installed it and maintains it is Almeda water well Manville, Texas.

I'm 20 miles south of Downtown Houston... Almeda Well Service out of Manvel did mine two years ago,..Home was built in 1978, supposedly the well is down, 325 ft... Pump was replaced and 4 brand new 21' sticks of 1-1/2?? --1-1,4??? (forget which,) Black iron pipe...3 old sections of galvanized were re-installed on the upper end. new Pump is at 150'... water table is at 70ft... Now my problem, I have a large galvanized tank... and two large cannister filters... The filters are filling up with mud/sand, at an alarming rate... every week or two... to the point of having to take the pre-filter out and rinsing it, and re-installing it...can't afford buying new ones... it's been suggested that I have a craked casing... and NO ONE!!!!! Seems to be able to repair it... and are only giving me the option of drilling a new well... HELP!!!! LoL... I'm 67... 100% Service Connected Disabled Vet on fixed income, and dealing with cancer as we speak... Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

@@RonaldSharon-g6zyeah unfortunately the pumps are not cheap. Had to replace mine a few months back. The 1hp Pump cost me approximately 600$. Associated supplies and parts cost me another 300$. And realistically speaking there were some other things I should have replaced but didn't and will do so in the future that would have cost me more. As it was it cost me 900$ and over 5 hours of my day (including return trip to the store) I am a 90 minute drive from a hardware store. My damn back was sure feeling the pain the next day after pulling 200' of pipe with my 8 months pregnant wife helping me where she could. That was a rough day.

Learning alot in this video. We had a well at a house but it sold. I found the info for the well which was not transferred or requested. The Real estate threw out all the service tags, boiler and water, manuals and warranties. It was dirty and even ran dry once, they said to keep replacing the filter every three months. Not much water was used but there was a 450 gallon hot tub added. It actually ran dry one year. It didn't help that there was two rock walls between the well head and the driveway. They used a fake wishing well as the top made of wood to mark the location. Never got to find out was wrong and told not to spend a dime. So if i get a property with a well these videos will help. Thanks. Head pressure was pushing down once you started the pump. Nice job.

17:59 (small white box with multi-terminals) is a "potential start relay". it connects/disconnects that start capacitor from the pump motor, when the back EMF voltage from the start winding goes above or below a(pre-selected for motor size) voltage level. 😁 not being negative/head butting, just nerding out on the electrical side. 🥸 it's possible a broken wire could make the start cap stay in circuit or the pump not start (stall condition), cooking the windings and boiling the water to steam internally enough to discolor the stainless. alternate is stuck on and dead headed without relief valve/s or ones it cannot overcome. really hard to say, but they should be able to run 24/7 with fair water flow and never overheat. then again, maybe the holes in pipe nearest the pump caused superheating of the water deep within the well, that could also cook the check-valve apart and discolor the pump. ok thinking about it too much. back to video 🤓🤓🧐

14 Homes on that system? I cannot imagine those homes would have much water pressure at times.
@patrickd9551
@patrickd9551 9 ай бұрын
Why not? The pump itself is 15 GPM, more then plenty to keep those tanks filled up. The main question is how many GPM are those able to provide? Are there any booster pumps to keep the pressure up? I can't imagine them replacing the pump from 20 to 15 if it wasn't enough to keep the system up and running. Anyway, from the tanks forward it's basically a concurrency game. A faucet takes a maximum of 2 GPM, but most are limited to below 1 GPM. My watersaving showerhead uses just 2 GPM, but even those wasteful overhead rain showers use 4 GPM at most. How many showers and faucets do those households open at exactly the same time? Remember they are not regular wastefull american super condos with multiple rain showers, these are basically shelters with minimalist requirements. Anyway at 15 GPM you would need to have half of the households to take a shower at the same time to notice something. And if you live in cheap housing like this, you know you will have limited services from time to time. You learn to live with it.

Great work. You guys make me crazy by not wearing hard hats with overhead work. I see the galv pipe was tight. With two guys, have each guy with one hand on each wrench. That way you truly have double the power on breaking the joint. As far as the pump sizing. I understand that the owner didn't want to spend much money. But with 14 homes X 3-4 fixtures in each unit, you require 1gpm per fixture. Thats why the bigger pump was in the well. Yes I understand that they may not use that much at one time, but that's how you determine pump size. And with a community well like that, no one understands what it takes to maintain a water system. Everyone thinks you just turn on the faucet and you have water until something happens. Then they don't understand how much it's going to cost until they get the bill. I don't know why places like that can't plan ahead for repairs.

I've got a question, hope it's not a dumb one. At 26:00 when you were plumbing the lines together with 90 elbows, I was wondering if 45 elbows would be better. Would it make an"easier" path for the water, not making the pump work as hard? My guess for total cost of the job is $4500.

I was thinking the same thing, is there a flexible type of hose that could be used for slight angles or is that not an option for some reason?

was there a reason that you did not use a stainless steel cable and attach it to the pump housing in case something happens and pump fell to bottom of the well or if the electric wires were to short out and burn lose

Would love to have a well on my property here in TN and the "city" water is damn nasty and getting worse. But no idea on cost for that.

Where in TN? We had well water, but it was so full of minerals that it was dang near crunchy. The spring water, however, is awesome 👌 I am in West TN near the Mississippi border.

@@YobieTheQuestioner I got a buddy in Cookeville. Springs all over. He has a spring that forms a creek in his back yard. Unfortunately I'm closer to oak ridge. Once you get over the mountain things change over here.

One more safety thought, use lockout devices to keep the electric line from being energized.

Technically required for sure. But in this case the breaker was very close and the only others in the area were his own crew who would know better than to turn that breaker on. Was it OSHA safe? Of course not. But in this case I would have done the same without worry. Now if that panel were further away I would definitely LOTO.

With such a high groundwater level , couldn t you use a jet pump ? Or is the groundwater level dropping in summer? Groundwater can be pretty agressive and damage all iron parts, including a cast iron pump
