So yeah, she changed but I still see the same girl just with more growth.

Part of me wishes they didn't throw away Zane's character development from seasons 1 and 2. Another part of me kind of respects it because it goes against the "bad boys need a good girl to change them" trope which can be very damaging in real life. In real life, a jerk like season 1 Zane probably wouldn't change just because he got a wonderful beautiful girl. While Zane's actions in this and the next few episodes don't gel with the character they built up, it does match what early Zane might've done. He is inherently selfish, money-driven, and egotistical despite not being bad at heart. Then again, even season 2 Zane pushed Rikki to lie to the girls about that artifact reward. I don't know, as much as wanted Zane and Rikki to be together like they were in those happy times where he was being caring, I think the direction they chose is actually a good lesson for girls. You might really want to be with him, you might want to believe you changed him, but when evidence presents itself (like this full moon thing, the Will thing, or even the clown party thing) over and over again that they haven't really changed, you have to let it go.

Exactly! Also people are really complicated and sometimes in life you regress a little instead of going forward. Even in season 2 we saw Zane being in competition with Ash. Back then Rikki took Zane's side instead of the girls but now she's seeing that he hasn't really changed, he's was just better at hiding it in season 2. It's probably not his fault his toxic familial situation messed him up. You don't just change over night because you like a person. It takes years of theraphy and awknowledging your faults. He needs to get help before he could be with Rikki, not have her fix him
