@Lee-fw5bd6 жыл бұрын
They weren't really talking it down. They were presented with the question of how the show would stand up today and responded in kind. Twitter allows direct access to showrunners and networks (democracy/capitalism at work ya know) so Twitter blowing up can easily affect a shows longevity.
@MF-nl5zd6 жыл бұрын
@@Lee-fw5bd Have you ever seen The Big Bang Theory, Two and a half Men(i mean the earlier seasons) or South Park? These are series that have an abundance of racist/sexist jokes/characters in them AND twitter seems to not care that much for the last 10 years. Some snowflakes (I am liberal myself, but some people are exaggerating it) don't get, that there are people outside of their filter bubble which are fine with such a humor. Not every show has to be for everyone.
@Lee-fw5bd6 жыл бұрын
@@MF-nl5zd I think you misunderstood my position. I wasn't insinuating anything outside of what I said, Twitter allows access to creators and thus if the show isn't viewed well by the audience, it will likely be scrapped. I wasn't bringing politics into this. Hell, I don't even think the kids were in the wrong at all in the Fine Bros video. I don't blame PC culture or them being snowflakes for their criticism/dislike of Seinfeld as they just didn't find the jokes funny (because ya know, comedy is subjective, Seinfeld was a response to a sitcom/family television environment that the current generation wasn't in, etc) and when you don't find an edgy joke funny, you're likely to take it seriously and look maybe a layer to deep. Kind of like if you don't like rhetorical heavy speeches, you're likely to not factor in the rhetoric and take the speaker at their word. I agree with you, hell, It's Always Sunny is a way more edgy show that was very popular and it wasn't subject to really any backlash. Same with Community and the Office, so I really don't think the reactors are overly sensitive or anything, they just didn't find Seinfeld funny. Honestly I don't even believe there is a PC culture and it's just something that the right cooked up to demonize the youth that are to the left who want media to maybe not promote messages that are harmful to people (radical idea, right).
