christian exactly. Everyone wants to make up an excuse to complain about something or win "oppression points". It's like why can't we call out when something is really wrong with society and not just every little thing that might just offend someone. People used to actually save time to complain about the important things. Now people just trivialize every little thing, it's so annoying.

Nick18 M same. Sometimes I’m a little surprised with how these asshats are that shows like South Park and Always Sunny still have new episodes being made then I’m like no fuck that. If people want to get offended over a fictional television show then they don’t have to watch it. I had someone get offended that I said Always Sunny was my favorite show and I said the fact that they’re sociopathic, narcissistic, selfish garbage human beings is the entire point. Nobody’s saying it’s actually ok to act that way in real life but it makes for good TV lol

@Lee-fw5bd
@Lee-fw5bd 6 жыл бұрын
They weren't really talking it down. They were presented with the question of how the show would stand up today and responded in kind. Twitter allows direct access to showrunners and networks (democracy/capitalism at work ya know) so Twitter blowing up can easily affect a shows longevity.
@MF-nl5zd
@MF-nl5zd 6 жыл бұрын
@@Lee-fw5bd Have you ever seen The Big Bang Theory, Two and a half Men(i mean the earlier seasons) or South Park? These are series that have an abundance of racist/sexist jokes/characters in them AND twitter seems to not care that much for the last 10 years. Some snowflakes (I am liberal myself, but some people are exaggerating it) don't get, that there are people outside of their filter bubble which are fine with such a humor. Not every show has to be for everyone.
@Lee-fw5bd
@Lee-fw5bd 6 жыл бұрын
@@MF-nl5zd I think you misunderstood my position. I wasn't insinuating anything outside of what I said, Twitter allows access to creators and thus if the show isn't viewed well by the audience, it will likely be scrapped. I wasn't bringing politics into this. Hell, I don't even think the kids were in the wrong at all in the Fine Bros video. I don't blame PC culture or them being snowflakes for their criticism/dislike of Seinfeld as they just didn't find the jokes funny (because ya know, comedy is subjective, Seinfeld was a response to a sitcom/family television environment that the current generation wasn't in, etc) and when you don't find an edgy joke funny, you're likely to take it seriously and look maybe a layer to deep. Kind of like if you don't like rhetorical heavy speeches, you're likely to not factor in the rhetoric and take the speaker at their word. I agree with you, hell, It's Always Sunny is a way more edgy show that was very popular and it wasn't subject to really any backlash. Same with Community and the Office, so I really don't think the reactors are overly sensitive or anything, they just didn't find Seinfeld funny. Honestly I don't even believe there is a PC culture and it's just something that the right cooked up to demonize the youth that are to the left who want media to maybe not promote messages that are harmful to people (radical idea, right).

Seinfeld absolutely holds up and is still hilarious to this day. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is one of the most popular TV shows today and one of the most long running. The creator of It's Always Sunny Rob McElhenney openly said he was inspired by Seinfeld, he even called the show "Seinfeld on crack". The stuff that Sunny does is even more over the top than Seinfeld. The whole joke of Seinfeld and It's Always Sunny is that they are egotistical people who do terrible things and should not be looked up to. It is clear that these kids don't understand anything about comedy.

Calling someone out on being a biggot isn't being an SJW if it is real. This is silly of course, since the show itself is calling the characters biggots and ignorant, these guys ARE overreacting, but to say that you can't be offended just because a slur or something like that isn't being used on YOU or YOUR race or whatever? Yeah, as a gay lady, I don't understand why another gay lady would get angry at the gay Seinfeld episode. Did these people even watch the same episodes of Seinfeld as the rest of us?
@AmandaBear26

Very true about the whole "gay friend" card. Although I think the girl in the video is also gay because she said "even if I wasn't gay" before mentioning the gay friends. Which is why I think her anger directed at the Seinfeld episode is just so...bizarre. She didn't even look at in context or else she would know that it's not a case of "no homo" like you would expect (which is why it was so groundbreaking, as Ethan pointed out). @@suus3stars841

Tori Sandler not the point I was making, they could think the show sucks but to say the jokes on Seinfeld we’re taking it too far and the fact that one girl thinks the writers and producers should be fired is a little much. There are more fucked up shows with even worse jokes that do fine in today’s social climate.
