I’ve got an 08 legacy 3.0r and have owned an 03’ Subaru Outback. I love that motor so much

Sick video been thinking of swapping my 2010 Impreza hatch with a Forester h6 but because of the canbus system I would have to run the whole ecu wiring harness from the dash to the engine & beyond lol great work though

Hi, i am just starting this build and have a question about the wiring. Does the harness need to be removed form the car or can the merge be done in car? I'm thinking take about 500mm of all the wiring from the ECU pins from the EZ30, looking at both ECU pinout tables and merging 1 by 1 in the car. Thought this would eliminate most of the tracing wires.

You will either need to make or take the engine harness for the ez30. the rest I believe it is very possible to merge. However where the difficulty lies is trying to reduce the ez30 harness down to simply the engine essentials. The ecu can be merged to things such as fuel pump, ignition, engine speed, etc. Just remember to find a ground for your speedo and other dash gauge components in the car by either grounding to the body or merging to an engine ground in the ez30 harness

Do you by chance have info on the stock ecm pin diagram trying to find where the tach signal is.

Hey Spencer how would I go about a DD swap. Would I use the H6 ECU, splice it into the donor (98 Outback Sport) harness, do the MT w/the safety neutral switch as you've done, reprogram the vin to match for emissions. Does this sound feasible..do you have any recommendations for this scenario?

If you had to do it all over again, what ECU path would you go with?

Hey I have an 2008 impreza 2.5i sedan what would I need to research or buy to put this into my silver Subaru it has an ej25 engine what would I need to put this in and or research and if I got the engine you have the ez30d what could I do to make it just a engine swap

Am looking at doing this swap, I currently have two outback’s one is an 01 which I currently daily drive and an 02 I naught to swap the engine out of to install into my 01, the 01 was originally usdm2.5L swapped to jdm 2.0L the 02 has an H6 I wanted to know how much would be involved in this swap?
@Spenceboy943 жыл бұрын
Big as the cars of the same body the swap will be a little bit easier being as everything will just bolt in including the ride and all of your clearances I'll be perfect. The only difficult part will be the wiring harness because you won't have to move it over to the other car

Any idea on doing an Ez30 swap from a Rs30 legacy into a Gf Impreza?
@Spenceboy942 жыл бұрын
Process would much the same as the swap into a GD body car. Except no modifications would need to be made to the return style fuel system. You would still need to spend the time reducing the ez30 harness or spend the money on an ECU to run it. I go through doing the second gen swap on this GD using a Haltech ECU in another couple vidoes. I also have recently just placed this very engine into an 03 Baja.

how would the proper way to do the wiring. also have 2007 in need of engine h6 sounds interesting
@Spenceboy943 жыл бұрын
Proper way would be to reduce the harness to the few wires needed. Or as im doing now to wire in a stand alone ecu.

Did you have the donor car?

Yes Donor car was an 02 3.0l outback

Yes it is, however this winter I'm in the process of swapping in an EZ30R out of an 06 Tribeca into it......If all else fails however i can revert back to the EZ30D in this video

Very haggard way of doing it.
@Spenceboy944 жыл бұрын
Very much agreed. If say it was my daily driver, I would have taken a different approach. However being as it is just a track car for fun, running is running.

I did do it all over again and another video with a second gen engine and I used a haltech elite 2500 ECU

@@Spenceboy94 nice, yea I've been looking at other cheaper ways to do it but, I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on a haltech
