Also, you say "there was no insult" but, in a way, the whole track is a kind of F U. Not to Em, its clearly Tom's homage to Eminem, but to all those "Stans" who hate Tom because he is basically saying if you hate him you must hate Em also as they are basically the same. I like the way he specifically says "I'm you" to Marshall, not necessarily Eminem or Slim Shady. By doing that he isn't saying "I'm you" lyrically or artistically or that he's equally talented, he's very specifically comparing their character, their situations and their lives (especially prior to Eminem's career really taking off, hence why he very specifically says he is Em from 1999). Nevertheless, those triggered Eminem fans will take it As Tom saying he is as big a deal as Eminem and get all bent out of shape over it, lol! Also, I love the position he has put Eminem in as a rapper too. Em might, and probably will, do nothing in response but Tom will get a huge boost from the publicity regardless of any attempted, pathetic boycotts. However, most people will have expected the customary Eminem diss track and will have been waiting for the equally customary Eminem response, whereby all Em's fans can coo about how he destroyed the opposition and ended their careers. Some will have been DESPERATE for Em to do that to Tom even if there hadn't been a preceding diss track to provoke Em. However, unlike MGK, Tom didn't even try to instigate a rap battle with Eminem, instead sweeping everyone's legs from under them with the total opposite of a diss track (an ass kiss track?). In doing so he has forced Em to either say nothing, or respond with some sort of acknowledgment. Some of Em's fans might've always wanted Em to lay into Tom but, if he does that now, he'll make himself look a right dick, and I honestly don't think Eminem is like that. So, in a way, Tom MacDonald won the rap game with this record before anyone even knew there was a game being played! It is genius when you think about it

It’s refreshing to see one of the greatest get his flowers while he is still on this earth. I think that should happen more often. The greats should have tributes they can hear and enjoy while they’re still here and not just after they are gone. I really liked this song and the hook was 🔥. What I love the most is how he picked up from Stan. The car with the water and seaweed coming off it, the room that looks just like Stans room and then paying homage at the end with the Jason mask and coveralls which I remember shady wearing at his concert. Tom and Nova did awesome all around. The way they are able to visualize and then execute what they want to put across in the video is phenomenal. They bought the props, built the set, shot the video all with a 2 crew production. You gotta respect that. Another great reaction from H8tful!!!
