I was one of the cameramen at the 2024 Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo. His performance was dynamic, his ladies preformed to perfection. Personally, he should have at least placed. Mark brings the art of hula into the 21st century. Brilliant choreography.

I don't really have any idea how I got into Hawaii and its culture and language, but I'm absolutely loving to learn and find out more. And I totally got into Mark and his chants - what a great video, loving it!

I love that each halau present in this video doesn’t have the same movements but they all still create such a beautiful rendition of this hula. Hawaiians United. Sharing beauty, history, and culture to all who wish to see 🤙🏽

I'm not Hawaiian, but I think Mark is the greatest chanter. I could listen to him all day. And, sometimes, I do.

I like the popolo boys energy, the one in the front row on the left!! It's nice to see other people like that appreciate our culture and not act like it's a joke but still have fun with it all the same time!!!🤙🏾🤙🏾

For some reason, i never can understand ''dancing'' no matter what kind it is, whenever i watch it. I get really confused and wonder why people do it lol.....I just don't understand it and i never feel it ''in my soul'' or anything. To me it seems to alien and my brain can't process it. Wonder what is wrong with me. I feel like i am an alien who landed and is watching other aliens do something that i am trying to figure out. Lol

a thoroughly enjoy the chants and dances with mark keali''l, but i wished all the recordings werent destroyed by the dispicable shouting of chicks through song and danc..is incredible annoying..its an american custom which better be left out of the terrible noises!! it makes any recording totally useless!! and yes julia records it, and i gater her screams are the nearest,...wished them gone..
