Rode a motorbike through much of SE Asia and Ha Giang was my favorite area. Really enjoyed reminiscing on those memories while watching this! Your channel deserves much more views and stoke! Keep up the adventure.

What an amazing trip mate, what an inspiration. Looking forward December 2022 to make the Ha Giang Loop cycling. Planning to fly from London To Hanoi, then get a bycicle and get there. Not sure whats the best way to get the North of the country from Hanoi with a bike. Bus? I believe no train, cycling?. Thanks for any help mate.

The cycle up that way wasn't bad at all. South from Hanoi sucks but going north it got fairly quiet fast. Babe lake was a wonderful stop also. Can't speak to other forms of transport but I do believe there is a train to the north. Most buses will likely accommodate a bike also I imagine...Amazing cycling. My advice would be to do it differently than me. Slow down and explore off the side roads as much as possible. Amazing culture up there.

Cool, very inspiring. I have some time left in my sabbatical and am around the area and was considering doing it in January next year. I won't have a bicycle with me though. You remember whether it is possible to rent an okay bicycle in Ha Giang or if necessary in Hanoi and then cycle up there? Thanks!! Cheers

I can't speak to Ha Giang bicycles but Hanoi has some good bikes around. There's a store by the lake with some nice bikes. They let my buddy buy one and then sell it back for a decent rate, cheaper then renting... Cheers!

I think I did it in about 5 days with 3 days of cycling in August. I would happily do it again and spend a few weeks exploring up there.

Up there is unlikely. It might be possible to rent a decent bike in Hanoi. My friend bought one there and then sold it when he left. Cheers

Hello there! I am planning on cycling the Ha Giang loop. Just wondered if you had any tips of where to stay along the way and how many km you cycled each day?

You should be able to find little guest houses all along the route. Otherwise camping would be possible also. Not many people around. I don't remember how many km I cycled per day but it was definitely slower than usual on the uphill days and way faster on the downhill. I would take your time once you are up there. So cool.
