Hey Peeps - welcome back! 🤙🏼
In this week's video, we're taking you across some of the most dangerous roads in Vietnam as we complete the Ha Giang Loop. If you haven't already, make sure to check out @TheJoyfulExplorers who already documented this journey in a fantastic way through their KZbin channel. They have a lot of awesome videos so take a look!
This trip totaled 3 nights and 4 days, covering over 350km and around 14 hours total of driving time.
We travelled from Sapa to Ha Giang by bus which took around 7 hours and cost us 350k VND p/p (approx. £12.50). We stayed for one night in Lila Inn before setting off the next morning. It was just 285k VND (£10) for a private room with a bathroom which was nice and clean. (www.tripadviso....
Bike Rental:
There are plenty of bike rental options in Ha Giang but we opted to go for QT Rentals as they had the best reviews and after speaking to the team they really put us at ease whilst providing lots of useful information about our trip. (qtmotorbikesan...)
The cost of the bike rental, which includes full insurance and a helmet was 1.1m VND p/p (£40). This was for 3 full days, from Friday night until Monday night.
As we were a group of 4, we did the trip by ourselves but you can go on organised tours or as a ride-along where someone else will drive the bike for you. We highly recommend this for anyone who is new to driving a scooter, especially on this particular route as the roads are extremely gritty and slippy.
Routes:
There are many routes you can take, but the main loop goes either clockwise or anti-clockwise from Ha Giang, passing through Dong Va and Du Gia. You can select alternative routes to each of these places depending on what you want to see during your journey such as waterfalls, viewpoints, and treks.
We will go into more detail in our next video about routes and our learnings from this trip.
We hope you enjoy this video, and as always, we look forward to hearing your feedback!
If you liked this video, remember to like and subscribe to get notifications for PT2 which will be available Friday next week.
For now, enjoy!
