It's the fact that it seems like the room may have been flooded intentionally in an effort to destroy evidence, while giving it the appearance of an accident. If a former president was intentionally trying to destroy evidence, something we know for a fact he has a habit of doing (shredding and flushing papers, etc), that's a big fucking deal.

Translation: if it sounds like a series of unlikely events cause damage to evidence at an unusual time ( drain a pool at the START of peak season?), during an investigation about obscuring evidence, is the key witness being assassinated at the courtroom door.
