@witherwolf3316 Жыл бұрын
I had an idea for a game like this a while back. The goal was to let people experience bending in VR, but it would also double as teaching you a martial art, because every bending style is based on a form of martial art. Airbending is Baguazhang, Waterbending is Tai Chi, Earthbending is Hung Ga Kung Fu, and Firebending is Northern Shaolin Kung Fu. The idea was that the game would progressively teach you real forms by showing you with an NPC teacher, and then reinforce things like balance, speed, and positioning through a system called chi. Basically the better you did, the more powerful and precise your attack would be. There would be an open world you could explore, of course, but there was also one thing I thought would be really cool, a power scale. You could duel people at regular levels, of course, but then, if you wanted to get spicy, you could increase both players' power levels extremely to get a result remeniscent of the Last Agni Kai. There were two things holding this idea back though. The first was that I wanted to make use of the Index's finger tracking, but didn't want to exclude Quest users, and the other is that a lot of martial arts, and bending as a result makes use of foot placement and movement, thus necessitating full body and hand tracking. That's a lot of prerequisites to have for a game that's going to wind up straining you physically. Edit: Formatting

If they base it on the actual 4 (perhaps simplified) martial arts styles the bending styles are based on that would be crazy..

"Thank you, random internet stranger, for the privilege of your time" No, THANK YOU for creating this content! I'm looking forward to many hilarious vr games to (eventually) come to the PSVR2 (I'm EXTREMELY STOKED), like that GTA clone, or this avatar like-game! Thanks to you for covering all the indies!

Refreshing to watch a "bad" gamer for once!! Everyone does not have talent, yet we can all enjoy the game! Keep it up! Thanks for a good video.

Learning form first to play the game. Sounds like how bending would be like. I mean bending does take heavy inspiration from real life martial arts, and getting the most damage from that would require form

2:10 had a thought about this it's not actually your fault that sort of thing is hard to remember or keep track of if you haven't had literal actual martial arts training i did karate for years when i was a kid, so it comes fairly naturally to me you're not incompetent, you're just normal lmao

This looks fun and I can use more VR games that give a cardiovascular workout as stated lol. I'm not big on pvp though, so if I do get this I'd probably end up just messing about in that lobby area and fighting the training bot.

I think it's awesome having to genuinely learn, it feels that much mor rewarding when not only do you do it, but you start learning, you watch your opponent and when they make a strike, you raise a block, then retaliate, and that's what VR is, making you feel like an actual Earthbender/Ninja/whatever else.

I cant help but find this very entertaining. Not just the video but the game itself! This reminds me of the beginning of the ordinal scale movie where they had the introduction scene. I never really used VR before but i am starting to become interested. What’s it like using steam? Or what VR headset do you like to use?
