I've always been a huge fan of Jen and love your tips Ben! But just FYI (as a first year med student), blood cannot be acidic! Unless something is seriously wrong, our blood is usually between 7.35-7.45 (>7 is alkaline,

As an actual doctor from Australia (hello!) I completely agree. A lot of pseudo-science going around. Eating and drinking acidic or alkaline foods get neuralised by the body so incredibly quickly. Like eating or drinking XYZ to help with 'detoxing' the body - but as long as we have a working liver and kidney, your body is so incredibly effective at detoxifying the body! I'm all for positive mindsets and breathwork and doing what you think is helpful, as long as it's ACTUALLY not harmful and wasting people's money.

Our body actually produces more acid than alkali. It’s all neutralised by the bicarbonate buffer system. The 1:20 ratio of HCO3:CO3- makes the blood alkaline. Although the ph is slightly alkaline, the reactions inside the body produces more acid which is buffered. Oh! I’m a 3rd year Medical Student.

As an Australian doctor too, I just try to omit that part that precludes me from paying attention to the message behind the pseudo science. Often, due to my scientific method upbringing, I tend to shut my ears when I hear pseudoscience. This year I’ll try to listen to the message behind it 😄 With you all a great 2022

I appreciate everything you're saying and your energy! However, I do think we put too much emphasis on happiness and not enough on inner peace. Personally, I think when happiness is the goal it's much more noticeable when not attained and can disappoint a lot of people. Many of us need to work towards a base of contentment - but this is a great and and informative video to go above and beyond that :)

Good video Ben! May I suggest doing your meditations sat upright? I have been following some meditation teachings and it appears that for some unknown reason, doing meditation laying down does not offer the same level of concentration and focus that sitting up straight does. So please try and consistently do it up straight. You will notice a significant improvement in your meditation sessions.

For me, at the beginning of this year I bought subscription for meditation app. I was already meditating before, but the fact that I’m paying now really holds me accountable. It’s been one of the best things I did for myself so far. Keep your energy Ben and your fantastic work. All the best for 2022!

I love your enthusiasm and energy, Ben, but I'm hearing a lot of scientific misinformation in this video. I'm a clinical psychologist and some of your comments about the nervous system, blood acidity, etc. are factually inaccurate. Perhaps consider the way you communicate your ideas - for example, focusing on sharing your experiences with trying out different techniques, and encouraging your audience to do their own research re: the scientific underpinnings

My grandmother was the first woman to swim from Denmark (where I’m from) to Sweden. Last year I got the stupid idea to follow in her footsteps and do the same. I don’t like water or swimming in particular, so this is so dumb. But I really want to push myself, and get uncomfortable in a way I haven’t before. So now I’m just putting it out there in the universe, as one of my goals/resolutions🤙🏼 Other than that, I’ve got ones you mentioned as well; breathwork, cold showers, meditation and working out 😊

Water reacts to thoughts? Even if it does, how does that change anything?
@HaveAGoodOne2 жыл бұрын
Because now we know that water reacts to thoughts and words, and we know that we are made up of 70% water, that means that 70% of our body reacts to negative and positive thoughts and words, meaning our words and thoughts are very powerful. I hope that helps, I cut some of that section to save time.

@@HaveAGoodOne Do we know that? Masaru Emoto wasn't a scientist, he was an alternative medicine "doctor" and his "experiment" was not peer reviewed or replicable. His findings were subjective and not produced in controlled conditions. @@Bottlenosedolphin_ We shouldn't bully, but this video shows us how misleading trusting without searching scientific proof in legit journals can be. Someone without the right education( or with one) can easily believe alternative pseudo science "proofs". The right informations are out there and we can find the truth by constantly asking "why" "how" "prove it".
@juliagardner13832 жыл бұрын
I feel like this is getting into pseudoscience and not really thought out. If water reacts to thoughts how do we j ow if the reaction of water has positive or negative effects on our body? Why does that mean we should drink more of it No we definitely shouldn't bully, I really appreciate Ben's style but people should always be careful about giving health advice which has no basis in science
