ASTRAYED
The Gods abandoned us.
So,
In turn,
We abandoned them.
Our prayers,
Our pleas,
At times ignored.
At times mocked.
So we left.
Leaving behind a dying husk of a world.
An empty kingdom.
Ruled by empty kings.
Left to wither in their own abandonment.
MANICOUAGAN IMPACT
Billions, lost.
Somewhere along the way.
Along the pilgrim's path.
A path without end.
Only I remained.
Silent, and cold.
So very cold.
Until...
I started burning.
Falling.
THE RHEA RITUAL
I awoke.
Buried.
Burnt.
Mangled.
No notion of passing time.
Has it been only days,
Since the descent?
Or eons?
I began eating.
Healing.
Rebuilding my shape,
To what it once was.
UNKNOWN THEME
The soil quaked,
Rushing,
Through the gaps,
Of my once phantom limbs.
This planet.
So familiar,
In its structure.
Yet,
So foreign.
Home never felt so distant.
TURNPIKE
The pulse of the ritual,
Arrhythmic.
Unmusical.
Stone and bone.
Steel and sinew.
Twisting. Winding.
Reshaping caverns long abandoned.
Resurrecting beasts long extinct.
The spiral commences.
The surface is breached.
The Gods are coming.
