Unpopular opinion: the character of Aysha is very annoying. I mean she's the one who wanted to be separated, basit requested her so many times. Now when basit gave her the authority to decide, she's finding problems here as well!! She listened to basit's friend, a stranger, regarding separation so conveniently, but when her sister is trying to convince her to get back together she's not listening to her at all. To me Bano is the real hero of this drama.

A lot of people didn’t like Aysha. I don’t think it’s an unpopular opinion; for a good portion of the show, I didn’t either. But I got to realise that Aisha, as well as many of the others, are representations of something we don’t really see in dramas very often: humans with imperfections. I did not agree with a lot of her actions, but I did understand them as the actions of someone in pain, a human with fears, insecurities, shame, anger, etc. It did seem like Basit requested her so many times, but she was in pain, and in real life, it takes time to forgive people who hurt us, especially when they are supposed to be the ones who love you the most. It takes time to get past all the hurt and pain. The reality of that is that for most of us, even after we’ve gotten past the feeling of betrayal, we still have our own insecurities to face. It was clear through the show that Aysha had insecurities in terms of how she felt compared to her husband in social standing, and to have those internal fears come to reality multiple times, like how he threw her out humiliating her in front of everyone, walked in on him casually discussing their problems with a female friend she doesn’t know well in their home, and to find out he once viewed her as something to be bought, honestly, I’m surprised she forgave him that fast. Mind you, I’m not saying Basit is the villain; there was no villain because they all contributed to a lot of the problems. I'm just writing down all the emotions she must have been feeling. Emotions aren’t always rational, and they don’t have to be. I didn't always agree with her, but my emotional maturity entails I understand her

In the beginning of the show the roles were reversed, aysha was the rational one, being the voice of reason to bano at that time who was feeling a lot of emotions. Point is, it’s easy to be rational when our feelings aren’t the ones invested. And sometimes it’s easier to take advice from a stranger than for the people closest to you, cause we tend to, in our emotional states want more than anything a sounding board or to feel like they agree with us from the people we love, it’s not always right cause sometimes we’re the ones in the wrong, but it’s easier to hear that from a stranger, cause we don’t care what they think as much as we do the latter

It was the most underrated drama that I've ever watched. Kudos to the writer for the character of Bano that she wrote. Seriously, it's really helpful for those who come from middle class family, that they can relate to this drama. Not only this, but also it's teach how to take our decisions according to our circumstances to being independent. Meanwhile, Bano is the only one who is over Matured, then her mother itself. I loved the ending for many reasons: the maturity shown by Zoya’s husband in telling her she needed to take time to study and work on herself and how he needed to step up and help his dad, the success that Bano achieved and how she regained confidence, the brilliant way she handled Talal, the way she made her mother’s dream come true, the touching scene between her and Phuppo, the Phuppo’s wedding, the way Basit evolved and, of course, the tenderness of Basit and Ayesha’s reunion. I just wish they had clarified Ayesha’s change of heart more. One minute she was adamant she could live without Basit but it all changed when she went to his house. Yes, she wanted it for her child but some dialogue about them and not just about the child would have been good. Still, that is just one point. I thought it was a lovely ending. ❤

You summed it up pretty well, loved how all characters evolved. But i was also hoping for a good conversation between Basit and Ayesha about themselves and not just of a child. Though she felt betrayed and insecure at times , but writer should have made Ayesha realise towards the end that how she too loves Basit and how she acknowledges his love towards her. But it felt like she was moving ahead with Basit for the sake of their child. So i felt a bit sad due to no such dialogues between them about their love towards each other. Nonetheless, it was a good story and ended well.

A very wisely and thoughtfully written script... I specifically love the way the story depicts Ayesha 's mother who's a widow and belongs to a lower middle class family turbulence. The way that woman behaves... director has justified the changes I mean the happiness and the problematic situations she handles as a mother.. she just does whatever she can to save her daughters from difficult situations and truly participates in the celebration of all her three daughters.. Ah of course Bano is my favourite character right from the very beginning. Seeing her growth and development and finally what she deserves was very rewarding Basit’s character growth has also been very enjoyable to watch. From a very close minded angry man to the calm and understanding man he is now. I love how well it’s done and it’s not something that took a few moments but it came about gradually. You genuinely see him struggling with not knowing what to do. I’m really impressed with this drama

Since marriage is forced upon most brown families, here in this context, bano not being shown as married is empowering that not everyone has to give in to society's rules and the normative that a happy ending can only be when one is married. Also, if you believe in marriage, well and good. But a lot of others don't, don't impose your views of marriage being good upon others because as desi kids, 9/10 have seen bad or abusive or dysfunctional marriages. Desi fams mein toh aisa h ki itna normalized patriarchy h, ki marriage ke wajah se jo freedom clip hoti h usko question karte hi nhi h and hence don't understand that 9/10 marriages in desi families for the generation before us involved subjugation of the women.
