If this is your original idea then you sir are a genius! If it's not then you're still awesome and thank you so much for sharing it with us!

Hope it helps ya! Yeh I can’t take credit for the original idea - I remember wanting to make this happen and then finding people talking about this Slack trick on Reddit. So I can’t accept the “genius” label for this one haha - but hopefully I’m doing the internet a service by breathing life into some hidden Reddit gems 💎 That being said, I do have a bunch of original ideas on my channel - such as my recent Notion Calendar trick, scraping solutions, my templates, my client portal dynamic feature, proposal generation etc - so be sure to check em out 😉

This is a superb idea, was trying to get something of the same done. There is so much that can be built using this trick.

This is a legacy integration that is being deprecated. Can you do a tutorial on how to use the replacement Slack Apps?
@toni-sianАй бұрын
Hey 👋 I have plans to cover Slack Apps, but for now you can actually do this natively as of Notion’s recent update 🤩 Pop your webhook URL directly into a button and you’re good to go

Whoop .. great trick!

Awesome man. How is the search objects module after the webhook module set up? I notice your previous video on the client portal was using a watch database items module that worked on last updated time. How does this one work?
@toni-sian3 ай бұрын
Yeh so the "Watch Database Items" module is designed to be used as the first (trigger) module in a scenario - in Make these are usually the modules that have the purple "ACID" tag attributed to them. However, since we're using "Custom Webhook" as our trigger module - we're forced to read our database items differently, so "Search Objects" is the play. It's just a simple lookup module that takes in a database ID and some filters. In my case I've set them up to simply look for the last edited item in Notion, which will be the Task that I want to sync... but you can change your filters to make them more complex for different needs.

Are you able to share the blueprints for the Make automation for your create client portal webhook button you made in Notion? 😁

@@danielbattersby Hey Daniel 👋 That’s actually still in development as I got pulled into other things - but still on the agenda - had a crazy month with travelling and work

Fantastic idea!!! Is it possible to create different triggers? It seams that there is the possibility to trigger only one automation with this trick!
@toni-sian5 ай бұрын
Thanks! 🙏 Yes, there's a couple of ways I can think to trigger multiple automations: 1) In the settings of the Notion Button, add more "Steps" that are actioned after the click. You can make 1 Button Click trigger the sending of a notification to 5 separate Slack Channels, for example, and then from there, trigger 5 separate automations. 2) Within your Make.com automation, you could add a step at the end to trigger a different automation (either within Make or Zapier, for example). You achieve this "chaining" behaviour with the Webhooks module. Would you like me to make a video on these ideas?

Hi @@toni-sian Actually mi problem is: I have to sync some databases for different clients. They have to see only few things and not our all stuff. The problem that I'm having actually is with the APP Webhook outgoing in Slack, which is giving me only one choice. Is ok to have different buttons in Notion, that was my solution,:one different button for each project fo sync Tasks and Documents databases. So I just need to find a way to trigger something like 15 webhooks. :-) But I have the feeling that I'm missing something on Slack. Thanks a lot, your channel is really interesting!
