[spoilers] Tsukasa is a character that I empathized with when I watched this anime when I was younger. Her loneliness, her dependency on the only thing that gives her happiness, the outcasting from the rest... I was cheering for her all along the way, even if she did seem to do wrong. I know G.U. gets more attention and had a more complicated plot, but SIGN is always going to remain one of my favorite because of Tsukasa. I think I'm going to go rewatch the anime now...

JAMation it's one of my favorite series...but it can definitely be difficult to get into since there are multiple games (most of which are available in english), multiple animes (pretty much all available in english), and many manga/novels (only some of which are available in english outside of a few fan ttanslations). So if really you want to get into it, a dot hack wiki will end up being your friend haha

Just going straight into it without any experience in the series was confusing as hell. Even someone like me who relishes complicated storytelling found I was scratching my head. What made things even harder was that the anime quality is quite outdated for the earlier series.

Well a remake of the .hack gu series is set to release on November 3rd and it will come with a whole new episode 4. There is a novel that takes place very early into .hack universe but I think mainstream wise .hack//sign comes first followed by .hack//infection and kites series (game). then .hack roots(anime) and .hack gu(game/ova). If you plan on buying the game on November 3rd i highly recommend you watch the .hack roots anime before playing the game since the game series is a direct sequal. The roots anime is not my favorite but it has the same great music and universe as .hack. the anime does get better in the second half and you will find this to be the case for many .hack creations.

The whole .hack series connects together, from what i can remember, if ya wanna go in order anime-wise, it'd have to be .hack//sign (part of the canon), .hack//Legend of the Twilight (spin-off), .hack//G.U ( canon). Huge problem i had with the .hack series imo was that if you wanted the full story ya needed to buy the books and games (which i did). I personally would've enjoyed a good anime adaption of the 1st 4 games which connected .hack//sign with .hack//g.u .

There's the set of OVA that came with the 1st 4 games that details the efforts of people in real life during Sign and the 4 games trying to find the truth among CC Corp's conspiracies and save the lost ones (similar to the side-stories in GU you could watch using the news feature centered on a TV host and Teacher going beyond the law to find the truth about Doll Syndrome), .hack Roots which details the events that lead to Haseo joining Ovan and Shino's guild, as well as what lead to Shino's comatose, and a movie called .hack beyond the world (which sadly i think is only fansubbed, not even official, so finding good subs for it might be a chore. Though it's not part of the overarching plot, much like Key of Twilight, and can be forgone).

Whenever this song started up, that's when the scene became extra emotional. This anime is one of the most nostalgic for me, especially when it comes to its final scene with the violins playing. I remember keeping up with it every Saturday, starting on Saturday afternoon and being transferred to the block at midnight the same day. That's when anime was at its peak and stayed strong for a good portion of the decade; not that it's not strong anymore, but I guess you had to have grown up in the 90s to understand the feelings I have towards it. Inuyasha is the most nostalgic for me... ...but I'm getting off topic. This song was done beautifully and I'm proud to have been revisited by two animes I've adored this year, one of them my personal all time favorite; Rurouni Kenshin. I've begun to appreciate LeeandLie for what she's done. So arigatou! :)
