HOWEVER, if they really want to let this happen, they should have a separate section for them so people who don't want to see them, can just avoid clicking that section. @Jade Rodriguez -- I don't know how it's not fair when Visual Novels clearly want to convince you they're more than just books. They're sold as games in a games marketplace, I never saw them in eBooks stores. If they actually were meant to be on the level of plain text books, they wouldn't be ruining the advantage the medium has by conveying a bulk of itself through visuals. I can't see a Visual Novel coming to be other than when a developer isn't satisfied with just being a book, but doesn't feel like drawing enough pictures to make an interactive comic or animated feature. It's much easier to replace the majority of the work with a text crawl and reuse the same still pictures of settings and characters over and over. Why would anyone choose this format other than it's cheaper and easier to make than any other visual interactive medium? The silly point-and-click games from the 90's like Phantasmagoria have more credible and visible production value than a Visual Novel. Some VN's actually have music, animation, and voice acting, which is just blatant proof they're being cheap lazy hacks since they're clearly more than capable of creating something on a higher scale than a Visual Novel. It makes me wonder why Anime still even exists, since people apparently find the still imagery and text crawl of a Visual Novel to be a totally acceptable form to convey a visual narrative. Why bother with animation or sequential art? You can just throw a fraction of your drawings in and roll the script by and people won't have a problem with it.

Lately I have started spending a lot more on GameBoy games then I ever expected to. I spent around $30 for a copy of Wings, a WWI flight sim someone thought they should port for the GBA. That's part of why the GBA is my favorate system to collect for (though the PS2 is my favorite overal), so many games that make you go "what kind of black magic did they use to make this run on a handheld?"

anyone know how to actually see which hentai games are on steam? just searching the word hentai isn't a great idea, and none of the tags seem very helpful (I mean, "nudity" and "sexual content" all lead to plenty of non hentai stuff) but yes, I do agree both games mentioned here (melty's quest and meritocracy of ogre are both indeed quite good) EDIT: eiyu*senki is there (originally uploaded censored, I don't know if it's been updated to the 18+ version since steam's policy change), and that's definitely a good hentai game, and if it is still censored... actually it's still a pretty good game (and you can probably get a patch that restores the full content)

Where did you hear that? Last I heard they opened the floodgates even wider and hoped their algorithms would "hide" games you'd find uninteresting from your personal storefront. I've had Steam for like 13 years, I have 1400 games on there (95% stuff I like), I semi-regularly go through the discovery-que, I diligently wishlist games I'm interested in and I've customized tag preferences everywhere I can and Steams algorithms STILL can't tell I what I like and don't like. And games stay on my storefront for months even though I've clearly gone through it endless times and NOT bought or wishlisted them. Do I have to hide them manually and if so then what's the algorithm even there for? Bollocks I say!

I bought a couple of H games already (none of them have it in the title). They're pretty good (Negligee and Melty's Quest if anyone is interested). Happy with the new direction of the store as it definitely means more content to choose from, unfortunantly the influx of 0 effort crap seems unavoidable when the store becomes more open to allow -good- H/porn games.
