They...don't do it with every legendary? They do it for the box legendaries for their game release, which make sense. Most "shiny-locked" box legendaries become obtainable in future games. And other legendaries (like the Galarian Birds, most likely), are shiny locked to be saved for a special event.

Yes, there are a good handful of shiny-locked Pokemon in a specific game, but aren't shiny-locked entirely, as a Pokemon. The Pokemon you mentioned are mostly the main Legendaries (Dialga, Zekrom, Zygarde, Solgaleo, etc) and Pokemon that were shiny locked to save for a special event, (like the Tapus). Which is what I stated in my previous comment. Most Legendary Pokemon, are available to shiny hunt, one way or another.

true. Raw power isn't the only way to win. When I saw he had 4 legendaries on his team I feared he might win solely because legendaries can be a bit OP. So it was satisfying that by the power of clutch defenses he pulled thru. I have experiemented with similar tactics in Pokemon recently. Tank pokemon should not be underestimated they can with right tactic take out 3 pokemon on their own and when something like that happens I feel like a total boss. I always have atleast 1 tank pokemon on my team nowadays since I realised how good it balances the team out.
