Year late to the party but. DNS basically the phonebook of the internet. Now imagine if somehow you could be seen as a phonebook. You trust the phonebook to have the correct information but if you say "Don't call Microsoft to fix your problem, call me and i will 'fix' your problem" Microsoft often needs access to your phone to fix things, but if you get access to the same phone you can install a wiretap and know everything that goes on. In essence, you are replacing the phonebook entry with an entry you want. And if every single number in the phonebook can potentially be your number instead of the number they want, that's kind of a big deal.
