Woah Miri! That medium trot really was something. I haven’t seen him flick his toes like that before 💃🏽 A good sign for nationals!!

I empathize with your frustration about not getting more judge comments. In the United State, where I scribe quite a bit, various judges have told me that if they award a score of 7 or higher, they are trained not to add comments because it’s assumed that the rider will realize that there wasn’t that much to improve on. To add some context, it’s fairly unusual for 8’s to be awarded in the USA, 9’s are practically unheard of, and 10’s are a fantasy. (I find that really rather silly, personally, because why bother to have a scale of 10?) Nonetheless, that’s how judges tend to score here. Any score under a 7 will usually be accompanied by a comment in the USA, and it does seem like your judge didn’t do that, either. It may be the difference in how they’re trained in the UK versus the USA. Just thought I’d throw that in as something to think about. Also, while evaluating musical kurs, sometimes the judges are so busy focusing on making sure that all the required movements have been included (since the pattern has been designed by the rider and varies from the standardized test patterns) that they end up not making many comments on the movements. I’m not making an excuse for lack of comments on kur scoring sheets, but they can be harder on the judges to do than the standardized tests. Or it could simply be that your judge wasn’t very loquacious, while lots of them are. 🙃

The TRT method seems to be how you train your horses, if I am correct and of great benefit as you achieve with kind intelligence. Enjoying watching your horses’ progress, thanks for including others in your busy life.

You were much more relaxed at this show. It was very much different than last time. Your yoga and meditation is paying good rewards. I am impressed with your progress in such a short time! Good luck at the Nationals. Enjoy it, that’s the most important thing.

Inde has grown so much and Kenco looks really well. So pleased that Mo is doing well and the lovely Zora is such a stunning Horse. Obi is looking good, he looked supple enough to me and on good form. Good luck for regionals xx

His free walk and medium Trott up the centre line was 👌 lovely test all round! You should be super proud of yourself and him💖 I would be disappointed in the judges lack of effort! I had a judge similar at my last test, so understand how you was feeling.

Welcome to Miri's toilet trips haha honestly love how open and honest your vlogs are! It's truly refreshing! I personally found Ralph's commentary very useful ;P picked up plenty of tips haha Did the judge have a writer with them? I imagine it's hard judging, keeping score and writing comments down without a writer. Just a thought hehe perhaps that's why your sheet was a little vague. Very frustrating though when, like you say, that's kinda what you're paying for but with COVID restrictions perhaps they aren't allowed a writer with them? Either way I thought it was a fab little test. Obi is my favourite ever. I love him so much!

So pleaded you felt so much more relaxed and i thought Obi did really well much better than the test showed. Try and make the same time to do your yoga and mindfulness before Nationals, it seems to have been very productive in this last show. Sorry to hear your chaps got taken. It's so sad people feel the need to behave this way. Zora looked really good when you were in the sand school. Everything seems to be coming together horse wise. On a lighter note - didn't little Indie react well to the water.🙂🌞👍

All in all, I thought he stayed very connected and in front of your leg the entire test, at least from what I could see. He looks spectacular right now. Well muscled, nice top line. A spectator can never tell because the filming always has to be done at an angle, but it seems like sometimes you don’t quite go over to the boards in your geometry. You go nice and deep into the corners, but on the straight, it seems like he could get an extra step over toward the boards to use the arena just a little bit better. Is that true, or does it just look like that on the video?
