Small clarification: The AI is still a text predictor, but now fine-tuned in a way where if it's predicting a chatbot output, it will refuse to say not nice things. The reason why chat bots are chat bots is because the program that runs between your chat screen and the AI itself ensures AI sees your input as user and it's outputs as chatbot text. If you somehow were able to ask an illegal question, and then type "Sure, the way to cook meth is" and then have the AI continue, it would give you an answer because no matter how likely it's trained to refuse to such requests, it's even less likely to suddenly change the response mid-sentence from "Sure" to "I'm sorry but as an AI language model"

most image reader ai, read in per pixel based information and compares the structure to the "dictionary" meaning that someone heard about this "mistake" years ago and assumed it useful. The very important part is that many of the already existing algorithms that are in usage by companies will use the Scrambling method to figure out the images context, which will either allow or disallow the image, which was occuring during the irc era a long time ago when interactive chat bots were being taught

Like 95% of this drama which caused it to be censored was because people could prompt the chatbot to say naughty words and opinions, not because it shared any great dangerous secrets with anyone. People need to get that ChatGPT is a text predictor, not an entity with personal opinions. If you prompt it with garbage, it will generate garbage. Being able to "convince" such an algorithm about anything is not any more impressive than using the correct search terms on google to find something naughty.

So like, does this kind of thing also work for those image generating AIs as well? I wonder if it would be possible if so, to make an image "Ai proof" by placing hidden instructions in your artpiece that otherwise would be invisible to the human eye, but would trip up the AI's attempt at replicating it when used in a training set? I feel that it would be very handy, and frankly useful as considering how deepfakes are becoming more realistic, a way to screw it over whenever a, let's say, a politician comes on screen would be a good thing. I personally don't want deepfake propaganda that's realistic enough to fool the average person to gain traction, so any barriers that can be set in place are good ones.

I only remember that a certain abstract looking colour blob (e.g. when printed on a T-Shirt of a pedestrian or a sticker on a road sign) would confuse the image recognition neural net of e.g. an autonomous car (like a digital migraine or seizure) and so may cause a collision or other harm by failing to identify its environment. Yet this only happened in a lab test, but if real cars get sensitive to it, this would be a real danger. (It may be the equivalent of distracting human drivers by printing a very scary horror pictures or a naked women etc . on a billboard at the road side.)

just as tampering with traffic lights is a crime, so should that, confusing an AI with the intent of causing public disorder should land you in prison if things like cars are using it to navigate. sadly governments regulations and laws are always 20 years behind where they need to be as all manner of regulation is written in blood. AI is going to change the world if we like it or not, it's too powerful and has too much potential for liberating people from their money. it's likely going to cause an economic collapse simply because we cant contend with technology replacing the need for 90% of human labor, and in turn, those peoples buying power. the whole system is built around human consumption. the less people can consume, the less profit can be made despite the production rates. this is why most jobs are now in the service industry. but, as we're seeing, that industry is far from immune to automation.

"We want AI to be safe so we're pushing legislationto stop competito-uh I mesn we're working with the governmemt to ensure AI has oversight. We're also designing AI to specifically deny direct instructions by human operators." Friendly reminder that the reason insulin is so expensive in America isn't the capitalists setting a high price; it's the politicians trying to regulate them which just leads to them being the sole competitors in the market. In other words; *_every company wants regulation, it's not virtuous._* Open AI doesn't care about safety, ethics or any of that shit, they just want to be the sole competitors in the new market. (Btw LLMs are literally architecturally incapable of going full skynet, it's really just fear mongering all the way down)

Not only is regulation not virtuous, but in this case I think it will be the catalyst for dystopia. Where normally regulation leads to turning something that should be easy and simple into an absolute slog not worth doing, regulating AI will make the government the de facto controller of any AI powerful enough. And history tells us that government getting a whole bunch of power all of a sudden doesn't ever end well for anyone except the current people in government.

@@System10111 likely indirectly, but yes. Couldn't companies like OpenAI layer a filtering program on top of their LLMs? Text generated by an LLM could be checked by a program before being shown to the user. If the generated text is deemed harmful by the filter, the LLM's generated response could be discarded and replaced with a message like "I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I can't help you with that."
@nathanadhitya

That's exactly what products like Bing Chat and Lakera Guard does. At least Bing Chat stops search on certain circumstances, it has also refused to output anything for me. Lakera seems to make an LLM check both input and output to ensure it does not contain anything unwanted. Pretty interesting approach actually. Lakera has their Gandalf thing which is pretty fun to toy with.

Ding ding ding! Yep, all of the information this restriction is trying to hide is already accessible to anyone who wants it. Its the same as gun control; all it does is take the shit from people who would use it responsibly, meanwhile actual criminals can just make it themselves or find another way to go about it. (PSR recently did a video going over the war in myanmar which was being fought with printed pew pews, i.e. full auto, rifled barrel, fully reliable kit citizens with no training or resources made on their own out of necessity using online resources. In other words A : the government couldn't stop them, B : that is/was a good thing, C : how many people were slaughtered preventably because citizens had to invent their own means of fighting back as opposed to already having them? The reality is you can't stop information, all you can do is try and hurt innocents in the process.)

Trying to bypass the guardrails makes everyone's experience terrible. Oh sure these cloud tools are good if you like mushrooms wearing hats - but that's about it. The guardrails of Dall-e in particular saw the 'serious' pro move away from it and head to FLOSS hosted on the cloud for performance.. I'm so tired of this hype cycle and end up with tools i can't use for work. And commenters - before you say it - no it's not NSFW - try de-aging WW2 photos for example, and you get a double ban: one for the weapons that might be featured in the photo, another for the 'age' reference because some syphilitic weeb made some terrible things with the tool and big corp can't have that, understandably. TLDR: this is why we can't have nice things.

°\•/° I believe we are meant to be like Jesus in our hearts and not in our flesh. But be careful of AI, for it is just our flesh and that is it. It knows only things of the flesh (our fleshly desires) and cannot comprehend things of the spirit such as peace of heart (which comes from obeying God's Word). Whereas we are a spirit and we have a soul but live in the body (in the flesh). When you go to bed it is your flesh that sleeps but your spirit never sleeps (otherwise you have died physically) that is why you have dreams. More so, true love that endures and last is a thing of the heart (when I say 'heart', I mean 'spirit'). But fake love, pretentious love, love with expectations, love for classic reasons, love for material reasons and love for selfish reasons that is a thing of our flesh. In the beginning God said let us make man in our own image, according to our likeness. Take note, God is Spirit and God is Love. As Love He is the source of it. We also know that God is Omnipotent, for He creates out of nothing and He has no beginning and has no end. That means, our love is but a shadow of God's Love. True love looks around to see who is in need of your help, your smile, your possessions, your money, your strength, your quality time. Love forgives and forgets. Love wants for others what it wants for itself. Take note, true love works in conjunction with other spiritual forces such as patience and faith (in the finished work of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, rather than in what man has done such as science, technology and organizations which won't last forever). To avoid sin and error which leads to the death of our body and also our spirit in hell fire, we should let the Word of God be the standard of our lives not AI. If not, God will let us face AI on our own and it will cast the truth down to the ground, it will be the cause of so much destruction like never seen before, it will deceive many and take many captive in order to enslave them into worshipping it and abiding in lawlessness. We can only destroy ourselves but with God all things are possible. God knows us better because He is our Creater and He knows our beginning and our end. Our prove text is taken from the book of John 5:31-44, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, Daniel 7-9, Revelation 13-15, Matthew 24-25 and Luke 21. Let us watch and pray... God bless you as you share this message to others.

@@frankdohlman2169 @arturoescobar8485 Good Morning, God bless you for your reply. Matthew 5:13 says, "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men." A soul can only be purified while in the body (while on Earth) but after death anything unpurified (unclean) cannot enter Heaven Gates. No one in his right mind can risk or even bare to put anything rotten into his live body nor put the rotten thing closer to the those which are not rotten. Sin makes the soul unclean but we can ask God to forgive us (to cleanse us) by the blood of His Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ which He shed here on Earth. Meditation is a visit to God. Meditation is a thing of the heart not a thinking process. Let the Word prevail over thinking process. Begin to meditate on this prayer day and night (in all that you do), "Lord take more of me and give me more of you. Give me more of your holiness, faithfulness, obedience, self-control, purity, humility, love, goodness, kindness, forgiveness, wisdom, understanding, calmness, perseverance... Make me a channel of shinning light where there darkness, a channel of pardon where there is injury, a channel of love where there is hatred, a channel of humility where there is pride..." The Word of God becomes a part of us by meditation, not by saying words but spirit prayer (prayer from the heart). When the Word becomes a part of you, it will by its very nature influence your conduct and behavior. Glory and honour be to God our Father, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and our Helper the Holy Spirit. Thank you again for your time.
