Thanks for your efforts! That one close cable was pretty frightening. My insurance on it was to use my trim router with an 1/8th inch bit and drop down tiny by tiny until my cut was just breaking through here and there. then used the back edge of my Buck knife to push gently and remove the remaining hairs thickness. an edge guide with double back tape kept my lines straight and then I finished off with a Dremel with a cutoff wheel in the leg groove. I'll do the DC conversion later and most likely just coil up all that cable in the back of beyond. Well done Sir

Thanks for this - I would cut the side with the dip for "stow mode" 5mm further away as the cable is close and got scraped. Bottom of the vents might be better on that edge, depends on what tool you use (i used an oscillating multi tool)

Nice job! Nothing you did there is as easy as you made it look. It seems like a lot of work to solder the wires back together. Most people would just crimp on RJ45 connectors and use a coupler to join the cable back together. Waterproof RJ45 connectors and couplers exist if the locker where the join lives gets wet. But soldering is certainly cheaper. Not sure where your 48V comes from but a lot of people have had issues with noisy 48V sources creating so much interference that the links speed is reduced from 1 Gbps to 100 Mbps. If you never see a download speed of more than 100 Mbps then you probably have that issue too. It might not matter to you though. Thanks for the video.

148Mbps as just checked. that is on the better side of the times i have checked. Not sure about that noise issue but starlink for me has been sweet. Never having home internet before, maybe i just don't know what good is! 🤣

Did you do anything to close/seal what you cut out from back of the antenna's plastic housing where the motors are/were, other than seal around where the wires go through?
@slightadrift Жыл бұрын
Nope… it’s all sealed from the factory 👍

You know you can use an aftermarket router which runs on 12V then just add the 48V which is what a lot of people do
@slightadrift Жыл бұрын
I did look in to that but just didn’t want to buy another router if I didn’t need to 👍👍
