Very nice tie Simon. I have done some stoneflies but never on a curved hook. It really looks nice. I will have to try one now. I don't use much swiss straw, and may not have that color but a black one would work. Maybe I will substitute another material if I don't have brown swiss straw. All the best and thanks for sharing. Thank you Sean! The curved hooks give a little more life to the bugs in my opinion and also usually have a wider gape, which I like. Give it a try and any backing material would work well, even pheasant tail. All the best. Simon

Thank you! For slower and shallower water I prefer to use lighter flies as they move better. But to suit your waters you can always add more weight.
