Honestly many issues (not all) could be easily resolved by allowing players to customize their UI. Simple features like: 1) Moveable modules like health, endurance, action bars, buffs, debuffs, target, map, chat, party/squad/team, etc. (Yes, I know some of them have limited customization currently.) 2) Scaling modules, to make them bigger or smaller as the player sees fit. 3) Transparency/alpha for modules, allowing players to see through them better for more visual clarity. Just doing that, would help soooo much. Then players wouldn't have to resort to 3rd party as heavily. But if you don't put these features in your game, then don't be surprised when players inevitably seek it out somewhere else. And be happy that it's just in 3rd party mods, rather than just migrating over to a completely different game that ALREADY has those features built in, ONTOP of offering addon support.

And the funny thing is that these things were made way better in gw1. There are possibilities like to just save your build templates into a file. Unlimited amount of builds! I mean, i get it, they need moneys, but then limiting the amount of templates is just anti-QoL. It's like they're making the game UI and stuff handicapped on purpose. Makes really hard to believe they care.

Anet tolerated autohotkey for years when it comes to play music (Musicbox), but as many other programs who take partial control of your computer... it can easily be perverted and turned into AFK farm. As a Musicbox user myself... I fear it'll be ban one day too because of a few scums. 😭

9:15 Whenever some "programmer" says "this is impossible" "this doesn't work" etc... I think back to a moment when I played on a wow private server and my addons stopped working, even the "addon" button on character select wasn't there, so I was trying to figure out what the deal was, of course I check my end of things, and everything was in order... Then a programmer guy got in touch with me and tried to help, I suggested "Might be the server itself not allowing addons" and he tried to refute, leaning on his programmer background... And hour later the devs of the server clarified that they accidentally disabled access to the addons, so it was on server end after all... lol. So "this is impossible" in programmer, and in a lot of other fields as well, usually means "I dont have the competency for a solution"...

I hope the do something, whatever it is I just hope things like BlishHUD don't get caught in the wake as well

Agreed. As someone that has limited time to play. I just use the Pathing module from Blish because it helps with learning maps and points out achievement parts. I had quit playing GW2 a few months after release -- I came back right before SoTO, so have a LOT to catch up on. Discovered Pathing within a couple days of coming back, and haven't been able to put the game down yet.

BlishHUD is overrated.. Addons isn't needed in this game in the first place.

@@agamersinsanity BlishHUD isn't "needed" but its nice to not have the need to open the Event-Timer in the Browser while ingame, or to show the routes for weekly-JP's if I dont know them by memory It's not needed. Its QoL

The thing is, developing the API is a big job. It isn't simple to develop and release a good, secure API. And it needs to be implemented securely, or we'll be in a worse position. Anet would need to hire new developers, deploy new infrastructure to support the new API, etc.

At this point I'd be happy if the REST API we got was somewhat complete. But it's lacking in a lot of areas, like for example if you were to query the achievement category "Weekly WvW" you would get a whopping two (!!) out of the ten achievements in it returned. If you ask it for map metas out there, half of them are missing. The achievements for Daily Lonely Tower fractal are missing in the categories. If you ask it for daily craftables, it has exactly five entries. Some world bosses are missing. There's no way to track daily achievements for an account because that's been dropped with the wizards vault release and hasn't been replaced. There's nothing there for WvW progression during a matchup like "how many pips are on the skirmish track" or "what is the current reward track progress". And this list goes on and on. Don't get me wrong, I am glad there is at least something, but even that something seems to get abandoned in a lot of areas and more often than not needs *heavy* manual sanitazion in order to build a tool for the game. And that just feels bad.

Few days ago BDO got a huge problems in PvP tournament because of hacks.

it's been a thing since 2012, same paid multihack, a few of them actually, these days they are very advanced, most of the abuse comes in pvp and wvw that has the largest impact on other legit players. WVW has peram stealth, speed hacks, teleport, auto kick, auto dodge, you name it.

I've always loved that gw2 was developed with the intention of not really needing add-ons. as opposed to games like WOW. and i like how in gw2 the skill bars at the bottom of the game have all these cool animations and change depending on what you're doing or forms you're in and stuff,it's so cool! HOWEVER.. the boons/conditions defffffnitely could be better and more clearer, exactly like the add-on here. i just wish Anet themselves would put this in the game. also wishing to have an overhead health bar instead of needing to look at the bottom of the screen away from the action for important information like that. and the hacking... yeah is it really that problematic? enough for Anet to divert time/money to it that could be used elsewhere? idk. but i just hope it doesn't divert too much

i think people blow it out of proportion, and are perhaps singed by jealousy of not having the grind or whatnot. if someone is hacking in wvw,, just go somewhere else. let them do their stupid bs elsewhere i guess. afaik hacking may be annoying in this game, but nothing really destructive at all. i personally would never engage in this behavior, because it would almost certainly ruin the game for me. However i simply do not care what others do, as it doesn't effect me. By all means BlishHUD should also be considered cheating, but nobody ever cares about it.

@@BitcHazel It's not about jealousy, the real issue is if Anet do nothing about it, then more people will do it and if more people do it cheating / hacking can reach a point of ruining some aspects of the game. Easiest exemple for that is the economy of the game. I say that cause people who don't want to farm / grind, won't do it anyway and most likly do'nt mind

@@BitcHazel : if someone is hacking in wvw,, just go somewhere else. Bruh do you even hear yourself? The truth is that many people would think "if someone is hacking in gw2, just go somewhere else". As a person who enjoys occasional wvsw or pvp i'd hate to bury these modes just because anet can't handle their shit. The game would definitely lose a lot, given that strikes and all is just a memory repeatable check where you constantly input your dps rotation password while watching netflix. Honestly i'd prefer ALL the addons banned, while some of them are very useful (as arcdps), they're not worth letting the hackers (like people running with leggy Cerus title rn) through.

How did I find out that there are actual hacks for gw2? With the TOF discord and VL discord bannings some while ago. So I did some research on my own because I am an engineer. Let me tell you something. Some people might not understand how helpless anet is in front of this hacks. Most of them are client-sided ... Meaning the only thing anet can do to detect them is to scan your whole PC. And I don't think that one is very "legal". I mean some of the hacks don't even use the api. They use the ".dat" file and they don't inject a .dll in the game. So good luck detecting them... There are even plugins out there that do your entire DPS rotation without touching the keyboard. And they all surfaced with TOF LCM. I don't know if they existed before, but sure as hell couldn't find people talking about them so openly as today.

@@GrubySzymek I don't think thats how it's gonna work If I knew ppl just played good cuz of hacks, it would destroy the fun I rather fail 5 times at Boneskinner, cuz ppl can't run to the left than them having hacks But thats a personal opinion I guess

@@KuroNekoji if people play for fun they would not use hacks. Maybe we should allow it and see if majority plays for fun or rewards
