Penacony is the best planet out of the game so far and I feel like it will stay that way for a long time.

Penacony's story was just perfect from start to end, and this was the best way to wrap up that part of our journey. The time we finally defeated The Order and that cutscene was amazing, and then seeing the fireworks around the Radiant Feldspar while Firefly is with us as if to mark the end of our time in Penacony just made it better. Honestly I hope we get future stories about Penacony maybe a few versions down the line.

​@@vyx_the_grole I mean it's part of the endgame storywise, the story is setting up for a 2nd Aeonic war with the Astral Express and Nanook at the center of it, with an internal IPC conflict as well, as it's objectives aren't really aligned with Qlipoth at all, they are more aligned with The Propagation and The Voracity, than Preservation.

luofu was bad penacony: we cry because the music was sad beyond that, the writing and the story + the dialogue were so childish that people forgot nobody can die in penacony since the beginning of v2.0 but TB and everybody will overreacts t everything to enhanced the FAKE DYING SAD song to be effective in baiting people. the fact that fake dying == doing the impossible + the last firefly death wasn't even real death since Sparkle had no intention of harming anybody, plot hole there since her 3rd fake death still didn't happen. 1st and 2nd was by dormnacy/"death", but misha said dormancy is harmless so did she really died? penacony writing is really dented. They completely forgot that v2.1 with aventurine had nothing to do with penacony or proved anything to anybody. Aventurine went up to "dead" robin and be like, "yeah she ain't dead for real" not knowing that she just went to the watchmaker but instead he wanted to try dying to acheron to get there LOOOL. meaning "do the impossible to meet me" == not actually dying but let my pet stab you. childish and whimsical af. overrated piece of trash writer holy.

I really can't relate to the firefly hype, she's basically a waifu bait. tho other than that, I quite like the npc quests, especially Chadwick's.

@@labradorite7051 I partially agree with you on that but misha and Gallagher should've been introduced/vaguely hinted in v2.0-v2.1. (edit: misha did have a bit, but a couple of them, like him being together with acheron felt forced when nobody could see him and clockie beyond us, not sure why clockie asked us for help or why misha just randomly stood next to acheron or how misha can appear in the irl lobby as a room service guy with his background which should've been unknown to the hotel when his actual stuff was dead within the dream. 5* hotel btw but literally it's so loose for plot convenience sake for characters to move around easier) nobody knew who Gallagher was but how is nobody questioning his existence in the higher-ups despite not being formally recognized by anyone? loose ends there as well but we're already moving on) it felt like the author wasted too much time with v2.0-v2.1 to sell aventurine and firefly' characters rather than penacony story and characters, so v2.2 basically became a huge lore dump story rather than a smooth transition story after v2.0-v2.1, which btw had nothing to do with the order, the dreammaster crow who we still know nothing about, penacony, or sunday beyond us feeling bad about firefly and aventurine. all villains in the story so far had appeared and disappeared without any screen-time or a proper introduction. randomly killing off duke inferno and potentially cool characters for no reason, what a waste lol. The entire time throughout v2.0-v2.3, I don't think they ever went through robin or sunday's character beyond, they're siblings and Sunday being protective of her for reasons still unknown. chadwick one was kinda alright. he's basically a slime I think with the reveal at the end and him giving his genius away to herta. which is kinda important coz he's ranked higher than herta at #79.

I honestly only like the misha story only starting v2.2 when we finally got to enter the dreamflux reef & 2.3. the story about the nameless there automatically becomes more interesting than anything else for me. tbh if Acheron's purpose of being in penacony doesn't tie back to tiernan as a nameless, I wouldn't really care for her as her presence is honestly just hoyo trying to satisfy hi3 raiden mei's existing fanbase bcs of raidenverse. it's sad bcs at least in belobog, bronya had actual development as a leader and becoming her own person. well other than that, 2.1 is literally aven's patch and it's honestly disappointing to see that hoyo just decided to throw him to the backstage immediately after just to make sure firefly shines more than anybody else. heck, how the hell does argenti even saves him from nihility? lots of yapping and telling, but no showing. no continuity at all, and no smooth transition, just like you said. and I particularly hate how rushed the story feels since 2.0. what do you mean I'm supposed to feel sad for a character that I've only met and suddenly mc feels closer to her than anybody else? gee, favoritism much. on the other hand, robin doesn't get explained much. suddenly she's supposedly dead, and then she's in dreamflux reef living quite normally, and it's just sunday that do a lot of talking but somehow still doesn't explain anything. i love those two siblings, and i hate hoyo for overmarketing firefly and yapping about her sad story since 2.0 to 2.3 while others found dead in a ditch (including boothill whose screentime is pitifully sad, he doesn't even get any real backstory dedicated to him like aven and ff. and argenti, i mean what even is his purpose in penacony? he's just a supportive character needed for something here and there, suddenly appearing when the plot needed him for a quick plot. he's not even penacony's main cast like sparkle and blackswan) . those two siblings story is still quite unfinished, i know. I seriously hope hoyo won't fudge up sunday's after story. tbh criticizing here wouldn't really change anything and I'm just letting off some steam. at least there's someone who's partially agreeing with me on something. thanks dude

@@labradorite7051 The problem with how the writer wrote the story was that, only v2.2 was about PENACONY and Penacony characters. Even now we don't even know much about Robin or Sunday's character beyond Sunday's tendency to yap, and the tendency to pretend to be a priest occasionally LOL. - Like the amount of time wasted on Aventurine and Firefly was just terrible coz if we minus Firefly and Aventurine story out of v2.0-v2.1, it wouldn't have affected the v2.2 finale since it was that unrelated. And we didn't need firefly to guide us to the watchmaker because Sparkle was the person who technically sent us to dormancy/"death" (name given by blackswan, which misdirected its actual name). Another thing, a bunch of things got said in Penacony but half of it they didn't actually mean it. Like "do the impossible", "die in the dreamscape", "dormancy = death", "wakey wakey", etc. None of that happened or is true. This made all the firefly lines in v2.3 to her lying again with the ORDER to pretend to die with the fireworks staged by Sparkle and herself. Unreal. - Now that you mentioned it, the writer just brushed off Acheron dicing Aventurine, the only person that can 100% kill a person in the dream, and randomly Argenti who had no character appearance appeared out of nowhere, with perfect timing, to magically save Aventurine when time IN THE DREAMSCAPE WAS STUCK AT 0:00 in real time for a long extended period within the time in the dreamscape. So this implies that Argenti was in the dream but when? He never made any appearance at all even in the v2.0 trailer. This feels like a random last-second thing. This brought about another plot hole with the galaxy rangers as well. - The fact that the IPC entire existence was entirely forgotten throughout v2.2 was another bad build-up. Like, whats the deal with Dr.ratio trying to scam Sunday via force Aventurine to fake a whole death, and then not appearing or use that to do anything else in the later story? - Another problem with "Sigonian Steoreotype" that Dr.ratio and Sparkle had said initially to Aventurine, but when we look at Aventurine backstory, it completely contradicts everything regarding that stereotype; since their planet is literally a barren land with no proper civilization. In fact, how the hell did Dr.ratio, the intelligence guy, know less about stuff than Jade who's just a contract manager for the IPC? Shaoji, the writer, really has the habit of making smart-looking characters magically know stuff. For example, the case with how Aventurine knew that we are have the sterallon but somehow Dr.ratio didn't know that. Even when two of the previous planets that we've been too had no IPC, belobog literally didn't exist to them, so how would they/Aventurine even knew about us? ------------------------- You're right, with Bronya and Seele they at least properly built up a strong foundation first rather than just, "they magically love each other or no introduction is needed coz... hi3". I'm sure the majority of people playing HSR doesn't even know what hi3 was, but they're still writing the story this way... Like, wtf? but yeah, I do that a lot too whenever I hear people pretending to love the story when they don't even know what's happening the majority of the time. And not gonna lie, I agree with all your takes. boothill, dan heng, aventurine, firefly, etc. If we remove them from Penacony v2.0-v2.2, the fact that it wouldn't change the outcome in v2.2 is quite something.

So funny because this was a song for a character who pretends to die from v2.0-v2.3, never did die, never did talked about herself beyond "I think I have cancer, now feel bad for me" into a fake date where v2.3 ended off like it was never a thing, into, "we did the impossible" when the impossible never happened, or "wake up" when she's literally saying it while everybody is still sleeping and using the dreamscape, including the speaker herself lmao. the whole plot of v2.0-v2.3, if you remove Firefly and Aventurine completely. Wouldn't had affected the outcome of v2.2. In fact, Firefly and Aventurine didn't even fought Sunday or the Order, but firefly appear in the beginning and at the end like she actually did anything important. writing with no braincells when Acheron DID 90% of the troublesome things in Penacony, with Sparkle doing some good stuff behind the scenes. In fact, we went through v2.2 yapping for Gallagher and misha but instead of a watchpower/getting his legacy, we got a freaking hat. Like, the fk? So we went through all that for nothing just so a PNG image of Harmony Aeon to give us some random power out of nowhere? HSR writing is fking garbage. Getting hard carried by the entire production team and the music. I see why nobody gives a sht about hi3 writing because Shaoji is an overly pretentious garbage writer with a bunch of simps overrating him.
