All of these performances happened prior to the solo covers you reacted too. Chiquita (pronounced Chi-key-tah) was recovering from Covid-19 when she performed her solo and lost at least a week of practice time (they have a month to prepare for each monthly evaluation). As for Pharita and Ahyeon, you were actually mixing the two of them up in the final reaction of this video. Additionally I agree with the other comments suggesting that you watch there introduction videos. You will get a better idea of who they each are. Though, I would suggest listening to their black and white covers first which are located on YG entertainment's youtube channel. It's the first content we received teasing their talents. There are 8 short videos (1.5-3 minutes, I believe) with one being a dance video.

"Gone" is Blackpink's Rosè solo song and "Stay" is Blackpink's. Both covers were part of Baby Monster Final Evaluation. And so is the "Dont know what to do" dance cover. Blackpink Lisa was actually helped them in the choreography. The girls sung the song. Its their voices playing in the track.

if you want more solo covers, there are the black and white live teasers that we were introduced to the girls with. You won't find them on their page though, they are on YG's KZbin page. They are all pretty short, like 2mins or less, but you'll be impressed by them and will see why so many people were invested in them right off the bat. I'd highly recommend them. There are some very great performances there that will be sure to shock you.

During this period of their training they covered Blackpink songs. In case you don't know about Blackpink, they debuted under the same company, YG entertainment, in 2016 and became a global phenomenon. Not because they were great singers but because of the style of music, plus their charm and charisma, and their ability to entertain. I learned of them in 2019 so I had 3 years of catching up. Fast forward to late 2022 when Babymonster hit KZbin. After one video, I instantly fell down the Babymonster rabbit hole, I'm still a fan of Blackpink but I'm a bigger fan of Babymonster for the same reasons you are. "Gone" is a solo song by Rose' of Blackpink, "Stay" is song from Blackpink's early years (2016-2018, I believe). "Don't know what to do about you" is more of a dance performance for BM however, they did record it say they could hear their voices singing it while dancing as a group. Chiquita is 13 years old when they performed this song. You're correct. Chiquita is trying to capture the emotion of the song and her facial expression are part of her charm.

I agree with others who have mentioned reacting to 'Scars to Your Beautiful'. It's a great showcase of everyone's strengths. As for Chiquita: She is Babymonster's queen of facial expressions and... yes... is often in the center. At least thus far. Further, she was recovering from Covid during her solo performance of 'Traitor' and this clearly impacted her vocal quality and strength, as she's frighteningly good for being the youngest and with the least amount of training.

Part of what you notice with Chiquita is that at this point in their training, Chiquita was still very young and very new to the group. She was still struggling with Korean(her being from Thailand). Up until this point, all of her evaluation songs were English songs, and so on these primarily Korean songs, she had to work extra hard on pronunciation, especially considering the tempo of the song. So I imagine she doesn't look as comfortable as the other members because she's not, and she's probably concentrating pretty hard on the lyrics as well. But now in the performances, she has very great facial expressions. She's not THE center(that's pretty much Ahyeon), but she's definitely A center much of the time.

Some.of their best individual covers sre on YG's channel where its black and white. Actually when they were first introduced, Haram, Asa, Chiquita and Rora impressed the most in those black and white. But Ahyeon then pull of her best vocal performance in singing "Monster" by shawn mendes (yes i think its way better than dangerously)in her introduction video, Ruka shows she is the heir to CL, and Pharita during Stuck in the Middle and Sheesh just simply ate the vocals.

YG along with the other agencies spend a lot of time and effort traveling around the world looking for talented children which are willing to go through a training process to become KPOP idols, so many do not make it after years of training, so for the few that do debute, I applaud them all. it is no different that those sports scouts looking for new players in High School and College. But for the sports, those kids talents grow with the schools they attend while with KPOP, kids with potential get pulled into a company and that company trains them personally until debute. Language is a big part of the training, along with singing and dancing, how to take selfie photo and picture taking in general and how to act around camera and paparazzies. so many other thing people do not realize you need to know until you become famous and the life style they live in.
