as requested by some of you. A video of me going through sounds without speaking, nor explaining anything. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5mWpXpoe6h9isU

It’s fantastic what you did. Only 2-3 pretty dancers are missing in the video to increase the number of views even more 😅

Wow! Damn near perfect. Very well done. I really noticed only two things, if being super picky: 1) the mastering of the original release seems to have a bit less low end overall (I did compare against your dropbox lossless also) and 2) the delay on the vocals at the very end seems to be a mix between 1/4 and 1/2 on the original, so you hear the full line “what is love” repeating and not just “love”. These are really details to get the last 0.1%. If you find the time, at some point, it would be really interesting with an in-depth video of how you create the sounds (what do you listen after, how do you recognize what waveforms were used, what the shape of the filters should be etc. ). Very impressed!

this is one of the biggest misconceptions about my work. My versions are not exact nor trying to be. Some are closer than others. So there will be discrepancies in things like the low end. As it says in the description I have no control over the vocals. It's a stem. Not from the final version. But thanks anyway. :-)

Whats doing the bass? All sounds fantastic btw!
@Hedge77710 күн бұрын
The bass sound is all about nuance and technique rather than a specific setup. There’s a lot of mythology around it, but none of that really captures what makes the sound work.

@ i agree that it’s a group effort between all the gorgeous layers. Pretty sure it was a Yamaha TX81Z tho
@Hedge7778 күн бұрын
You would almost be on the right track with the TX81Z, as it was used to create many iconic bass sounds. But the bass sound for this track is much more nuanced. For example, the subtle formant shifts that occur between key changes are not possible to recreate, even with more advanced FM synthesizers featuring fractional scaling. If it were as simple as naming a synthesizer and a preset, then everyone would have the bass sound. It took some engineering and sound design work to create it originally. That’s what it takes to remake it.

What bass was used in this version? I don't see an FM synthesizer in the list of equipment ;)

A TG77, naturally-flashing every twenty-fifth frame, subtly imprinting its image onto the unsuspecting, unconscious minds of the spectators.

@@Hedge777 )))))) but ... but really? ))) Why hasn't the secret been revealed? ) And it’s interesting to know why the bass sound is not included in the list of equipment as an FM synthesizer? ) Or will this video have a sequel? )
