Just wanted to say thanks for such a detailed tutorial covering all the steps from referencing, building and painting! It helped so much in making my first ever prop sword (happened to be Stygian blade too) and I certainly couldn’t have done it without this amazing resource. Keep up the super amazing work! 👍

Thanks! It's pretty light, yeah. A little heavier than other swords I've made purely because of using the foil as an armature. But still a really light prop

Loved this!! Looks amazing. I was wondering how wide you made it? You explained how long to make it but I was wondering how wide to make the blade! Thankyou!!
@EvilCleverDog3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The blade ended up being about 9/10cm wide at the blade and 22cm wide on the handguard including both the skull and the laurels! I worked this out by eye while drawing the pattern, based on how long the blade was and looking at my references of Zagreus holding it~ Hope that helps!

Love the gold nail polish :) I just started getting into miniature painting so I actually understood most of the terminology you were using which was nice and you explain everything so simple but also in detail so I can try to take these ideas and apply them to a project I might do in the future. Is the foam just basic foam or a special kind of foam? What would happen if you got carried away and something you are foam claying gets too big? Do you start the whole foil part over? As always it was incredible and I love everything you are doing :)
@EvilCleverDog3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I'm so glad to hear that. The foam used for armour and prop making is often referred to as EVA foam. The specific foam that I use is Poly-Props' range of foams which comes in a variety of types (different densities etc) If a foil armature got too bulky you can rip or cut bits off of it to slim it down and reshape it. In my Doomicorn vid I did this with a stanley knife to reshape parts of the sculpt. Foam clay can also be removed and re-applied pretty easily!
